Mrs. Bettie Dickerson and Mrs.
Leilia Roberts, who have been
visiting relatives in this city for
some weeks, will leave for their
home in Centralia, Mo., this morn-
ing.
Sam B.Webb, traveling passen-
ger agent of the Richmond and
Danville road, was in the city yes-
terday looking after the interest
of his company. He said that the
passenger traffic on this side of
the Mississippi has been very
light this season, bat that on the
eastern side it has been pretty
flash.
H. Webb, pastor of St. John's M'
E. church, will conduct the fun-
eral. His brother, ex-Mayor A.
EL Dodson. came out to Albu-
querque, bat will not come on to
Gainesville. Rev. D. H. Dodson
of Leonard, Texas, another broth-
er, arrived in the city yesterday
evening and is awaiting the ar-
rival of the remains. Friends of
the family shoald be ready to re-
ceive the remains this morning.
We do not know what route
Mrs. Dodson took, bat suppose
she came by way of Las Vegas
and Newton, Kan.

called and disposed of:
The final account of M. Eahn,
administrator of the estate of
Pat McDonald, was approved and
the administrator discharged.

tate of Isbell minors; annual ac-
count approved.
George H. Ragsdale, guardian
of estate of Hoyle Merseroy, mi-
nor, annual account approved.
Court adjourned till Friday, on
which day some more civil busi-
ness will be transacted.

A. course at Cosmopolitan hall
last evening was one of the best
that has ever been delivered in
this place, and was attended by a
large and appreciative audience.
Many persons said they wished
the lecturer wonld speak another
hour,while some enthusiastic ones
were sure they could listen all
night without being weary.—Vine-

Death of D. L Dodson.
D. L. Dodson, who formerly
lived in Gainesville, died at
Albuquerque, New Mexico, on the
12th inst. His remains were em-
balmed and his wife left with
them for Gainesville Sunday
morning, and will in all proba-
bility reach here on the <fe30 Santa
Fe train this morning. Tho re-
gains will bo buried
Died.
Mirs Nannie Ball, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. George Ball, died
yesterday evening at their resi-
dence on South Lindsay avenue.
Miss Nannie was the idol of
her parents and beloved by all
who knew her.
The Hespebian sympathizes
with the parents in their great
loss.
Her funeral will take place from
the Baptist chnrch at 10 o'clock
this morning.

Who is it?
Not long since a Grayson coun-
ty widower married in Gainesville,
and all went well for a season. A
few weeks since his spouse left
him very unceremoniously and de-
clares she will have half the
property. Arrangements are be-
ing perfected to go into court for
final settlement.—Sherman Regis-
ter.

The Jail Birds.
At the present writing there
are fourteen prisoners in our
county jail awaiting trial. The
names of those charged with the
graver offenses are:
Jim Godbold (col.), charged
with assault to commit murder on
the person of Lee Stone, an aged
darkey.
Lonzo Offord (col.), charged
with killing Jim Kelly (col.) The
prisoner has beea tried and con-
victed and is awaiting the decis-
ion of the supreme court.
A. L. Phillips, charged with
killing Harris, in Potter's pasture.
The other eleven are charged with
minor offenses, four .of them with
horse stealing, five with vagrancy,
one with petty theft and one with
forgery.

ship and said F. L. Cleaves and
John S. Fletcher on the 15th day
