Section 17. PIPE LAYING. The cov-
ering of Ihe “Y" branch on the aewer
shall be carefully removed, so us nut to

shall be laid on an even grade of not

(If) ounces of fine soft lead for each
inch In diameter of the pipe.
The end of all private sewers not Im-
mediately connected with the plumbing
fixtures shall be securely closed and
sealed with water-tight Imperishable
material. If lead pipe, the end most be
soldered. If east iron pipe, a cast Iron
plug must be cHulked with oakum und
lead.
No connection for basement drain or
cellars shall be allowed nntll owner of

Section 7. INSPECTION.. The Plumb-
ing Inspector shall be given notice when

proval of Ihe Plumbing Inspector.

been completed in a building before
these rules und regulations eqme In
force. If the plumbing lias been done in
ai'cortlunee with these rules and regu-
lations, permits will be granted for milk-
ing eonnectlons with the sewer as in
new work, hut in civse such plumbing
work docs not meet with these require-
ments, alterations shall be made as tlie
Plumbing Inspector may direct, to make
llie plumbing safe to the persons in the
house, and such ns to he no source of
injury or stoppage to tlie sewer. There
shall he ut least one four-inch stack on
cHch Independent connection with a

cases, be at tlie end of the longest hori-
zontal line anil where pructieable a
minor fixture shall he ronnected be-
tween closet opening und riser. Traps
are to be ventilated, fixtures and pipes
clean, waste and soil pipes to be of ac-
cepted materials and to have sufficient
fall, all as specified in these regulations.
section 8. RIGHT OK ENTRY. Tlie
Plumbing Inspector, or his assistant,
shall have tlie right and privilege tn en-
ter any building within reasonalile
hours, in the City of Seymour, Texas,
for tlie purpose of making inspections
of ilie plumbing, drainage or yentllution
system constructed or under construc-
tion in such building. Kuril Tvnd every
system of plumbing, drainage or venti-
lation shall he inspected anil approved
hy the Plumbing Inspector or Ills assis-
tant. before said building in which work
is being done, or lias hern done, shall
he occupied.
Section 9. STATEMENT OK WORK
DONE. The Muster Plumber shall, on
the completion of the work, file In the
office of tlie Plumbing Inspector, a cor-
rect statement of the work done under
the permit.
Section 10. CESS POOLS AND OVER-
FLOWS. No open gutter, cess pool or
privy vault shall he connected with tlie
sewer or drain.
Section II. GARBAGE ETC., PRO-
11 I III TED. No person, firms or rorpo-
nitions shall Injure, break, or remove
any section of any manhole, lamp hole,
flush tank, euteh basin, or any part of
the sewer system, or throw or deposit
or cause to be deposited or thrown In
any sewer openings or reeeptaeles con-
. mating with the sewer system, nny gur-
| b.age. offal, dead animals, vegetables,
parings, ashes, etnders, rugs, or other
matter or thing whatsoever, except fae-
ces, urine anil the neeessary waste toilet
paper, liqold, house and mill slops.
Section 1*. NOTICE TO PLCMHING
INSPECTOR. Any person, firm or cor-
poration. desiring to lay pipes for wuler,
gas, steam or any purpose In any street
or alley upon whirh sewers are laid,
shall give ut least twenty-four hours
notice to the Plumbing Inspector before
opening the street or alley und Ihe man-
ner of excavating for the laying and
hack-filling over such pipe shall be sub-
ject tn the approval of the Plamblng In-
spector. All sueh work shall be planned
anil executed so that no injary shall
oei-ur to uny house sewer or drain con-
peeled therewith.
Section IS. OBSTRl't TIONS. The City
acting Ihroogh the Plumbing Inspertor
nr other authorised officers, shall have
the power to stop and prevent from dis-
charging Into the sewer system, any1
private sewer or drain through which
substances are discharged which are lla-J
hie to injnre the sewers or obstruct the
flow of the sewage, or Interfere with
the n;>eration of Ihe disposal plant.
Section 14. CONNECTIONS OK OLD

developed length in feet, the number of

of tills Ordinance.
