day afternoon, January 22, in the
home of the hr.tie's uncle and aunt,
Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Joe Self,
Mi",i Bet y Johnetto Self of
Throckmorton, became the bride
of Gary Deaton Greene cf Sey-
mour.
The bride ia the daughter of
Mr. und Mrs. W. M. Self of
Throckmorton. Parent; of the
groom arc Mr. and Mrs. Deaton
Greene of Seymour.
Oflicinnt for the four o’clock
nuptial, was llev. Carl McMast-
crs. pastor of the First Baptl t
Church of Throckmorton.
Arrangements of white stock
were used to decorate the nuptial
space, where the double ring cere-
mony was read.
Mrs. Juck Rankin, organist, and
her daughter, Marjorie, soloist,
presented the program of tradi-
tional wedding selections.
The bride presented in marri-
age by her futher, was attired in
a light blue wool sheath dress, and
carried a white orchid atop a white
lace-covered Bible.
Serving the bride as maid of
honor was Miss Lavon Glenn of
Wichita Falls. She was attired
in a black wool suit and wore a
corsage of white carnations.
Attending the groom as best man
was his brother-in-law, Felix Tay-
lor, of Truacott.
The bride's parents were hosts
for the reception in the Self home.
The table was csovered with a
white lace cloth over blue and cen-
tered with an arrangement of blue
carnations. Crystal appointments
completed the setting. Members
of the wedding party assisted in
serving the traditional tiered wed-

SEYMOUR BOY IS
NOMINATED TO ARMY
Congressman Frank Ikard, Rep-
resentative from the 13th Con-
gressional District of Texas, an-
nounced the nomination of Jack
Caldwell Knox, Jr, of Seymour,
Texas, and Alexandria, Virginia,
son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Jack C.
Knox, 400 Croton Drive, Alexan-
dria, to the United States Mili-
tary Academy. Col. Knox is a
regular Army Officer from Sey-
mour and is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. S. S. Knox of Seymour.
Congressman Ikard stated that
this nomination will make it pos-
sible for Jack, Jr to take both a
physical and mental examination
in an effort to qualify for entry
Into West Point in July, 1961, He
will graduate from Mt. Vernon
High School in Alexandria where
he was active in track, football,
the student council, Key Club,
Lettermen's Club and the Pep
l Club.
