City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department
Christmas Eve beach walk slated
Take time to stop and smell the salt air
on Christmas Eve and head to the beach
for a guided beach walk.
The City of Port Aransas Parks and
Recreation Department will offer the
free walk tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 24,
at 9 a.m.
Guide Shirley Fischer will lead the
genda
beach walk while helping visitors and
residents learn about all the treasures
that wash ashore on Mustang Island
beaches.
Participants should meet Fischer on
the beach under the purple flag near
Horace Caldwell Pier.
Sunscreen and appropriate shoes, hats
and clothing are all suggested, as well as
a container to hold your treasures.
The walks are held on the fourth Fri-
day of each month.

for Joseph “Josh”
Sutter of Port
Aransas.

host the benefit
from noon to 10 p.m. on Wednesday,
Dec. 29.
Sutter, who has been a cook at the
restaurant for more than three years,
recently suffered spinal column fractures
and ruptured discs. The benefit is being
held to help with medical expenses of his
surgery to remove bone fragments and

Tickets for barbecue brisket, chicken
and sausage along with red beans and
potato salad are $7, and can be purchased
at the restaurant now or on the day of
the event. Musical entertainment will
include Rock-n-Blues Engine, Alma, and
Marc Wiles and Friends. Hourly prize
drawings and a silent auction featuring
items from area merchants will round
out the event.
Monetary donations can be deposited
in an account at American Bank in Sut-
ter’s wife’s name, Candace Erin Sutter,
account number 310081378. Items for
the silent auction also are being sought
and can be taken to the restaurant.
Sutter, 26, and his wife have a 13-
month old son, Joseph II, and a newborn
daughter, Justine.

closed tomorrow and Saturday, Dec. 24
and 25, in observance of Christmas.
On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s
Day, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, the museum will
be closed and tours of the Little Chapel
