On Dec. 1, at 12:45 a.m. police
arrested a 28-year-old Uvalde man at
S.E. 2nd and S. Austin on outstand-
ing DPS traffic warrants. The man
could not pay the outstanding fines
and was booked into the Swisher
County Jail.
On Dec. 1 at 1:45 a.m. police ar-
rested a 41 -year-old Tulia man in the
300 block of S. Dallas for assault.
The arrest stemmed out of a domestic
argument. Police booked the man
into the Swisher County Jail.
On Dec. 1 at 1:45 a.m. police ar-
rested a 32-year-old Tulia man in the
400 block of S. Maxwell for assault.
The arrest stemmed out of a domestic
argument. Police booked the man
into the Swisher County Jail.
On Dec. 2, at 3:00 p.m. police re-
ceived a report of a theft in the 300
block of S. Dallas. The complainant
reported two tires stolen. Police in-
vestigated the matter and discovered
the complainant’s spouse gave away
the tires. Police unfounded the case.
On Dec. 2 at 10:26 p.m. police
received a report of a runaway. The
complainant reported her 16-year-
old daughter left on Nov. 28 and did
not return home. On Dec. 3 police
located the runaway and returned her
home.
On Dec. 3 at 10:43 police received
a report of an injury to an elderly
person in the 700 block of S. Austin.
The complainant reported a care giver
allegedly slapped a 91 -year-old man.
Police have questioned the care giver
and have turned the matter over to the
district attorney's office.
On Dec. 3 at 7:40 police received a
report of a criminal mischief in the
600 block of N. El Paso. The com-
plainant reported while driving by a
man threw rocks and hit his vehicle's
window. Police have questioned the
man and turned the matter over to the
county attorney’s office.
On Dec. 4 at 11:53 p.m. police
arrested an 18-year-old Tulia man in
the 200 block of N. Maxwell for
terroristic threat. The arrest stemmed
out of an incident where the man
walked into the police station and
reported if someone did not stop
messing with him he will shoot him.
Police booked the man into the
Swisher County Jail.
On Dec. 5 at 5:56 police received a
report of a theft in the 800 block of
N.W. 6th. The complainant reported
a man pumped $5.27 in gasoline into
a vehicle and reported he did not
have any money because he forgot
his billfold. The complainant reported
she made an agreement with the man
to leave and return with the money,
however, he did not return. The man's
identity is known and he is charged
with theft under $50.00.
On Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. police received
a report of a burglary in the 300 block
of N. Austin. The complainant re-
ported somebody entered a building
and made off with a bicycle and a half
a case of beer. Police questioned a
18-year-old, who confessed. The
police recovered the bicycle from the
man. The police charged the man
with burglary of a building.
On Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. police received
a report of a theft in the 800 block of
N. El Paso. The complainant reported
somebody entered his yard and made
off with a red 10 speed bicycle. Po-
lice have not located the bicycle.
On Dec. 6 at 8:20 p.m. police in-
vestigated a two vehicle accident with
no injuries in the intersection of S.W.
2nd and S. Maxwell.
On Dec. 6 at 8:20 p.m. police ar-
rested a 24 year old Floydada man at
TX 86 and I 27 on an outstanding
Castro county warrant. The man was
booked into the Swisher County Jail.
On Dec. 6 at 11:30 p.m. police
arrested an 18-year-old Tulia man in
the 100 block of E. Broadway on
outstanding municipal court warrants.
The man paid the fines and was re-
leased.
On Dec. 7 at 6:25 p.m. police ar-
rested an 18-year-old Tulia man in
the 100 block N. El Paso for driving
while intoxicated. The man was
booked into the Swisher County Jail.
On Dec. 7 at 9 a.m. police received
a report of a burglary of a building in
the 200 block of S. Collins. The
complainant reported somebody
broke into the building and stole an
undisclosed amount of money. Police
questioned two juveniles, who both
confessed. Police recovered the
money and the two juveniles were
turned over to the juvenile authorities.
On Dec. 7 at 2:30 p.m. police de-
tained three juvenile males, ages 10,
in the 900 block of N.W. 6th for theft.
The three were released to a parent
and instructed to appear in municipal
court on Dec. 9.
On Dec. 7 at 10:25 p.m. police
detained a 17-year-old Tulia man and
a 16-year-old juvenile male for pos-
session of alcohol by a minor. Both
were released to a parent and in-
structed to-appear in municipal court
on Dec. 9.
Between 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 1 and
11:59 p.m. on Dec. 7 police received
110 calls for service.

Christmas Lighting Contest for
town and country homes. Entries
must be turned in by Tuesday, Dec.
10. Entrants are reminded to turn
their lights on every night between
Dec. 10 and Dec. 14.

THE TULE Creek Jubilee will be
Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. at the
VFW Hall in Tulia. The house band
will accompany singers, and guest
bands will perform as well.
Concessions will be provided by
the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

THE SWISHER COUNTY
Family Community Education
Council still has copies of the
Centennial Cookbook available for
sale. The cookbooks make won-
derful Christmas, wedding or
shower gifts. The price has been
reduced to $5 per book. Please call
or come by the Extension office to
make your purchases. The funds
raised from this fundraiser go to
support the numerous community
service activities that these indi-
viduals sponsored.
THE HAPPY 4-H Club is spon-
soring the third annual Christmas
Angel Project Monetary donations
may he made at the First State
Bank, Happy through Dec. 20.
Club members shop, then wrap
the clothing articles for the angels.
Approximately 30 children per
year have been blessed by the
generosity of the Happy commu-
nity.
IMMUNIZATION CLINICS
offering vaccines that give protec-
tion against several childhood dis-
eases are scheduled for December.
Protection is against polio, diph-
theria, tetanus, pertussis, measles,
rubella, mumps, and influenza
Type B.
The Texas Department of Health
is charging money to help with the
cost of keeping the clinic open. The
amount of money charged will be
based on family income and size,
and the ability to pay.
Immunization will be available
in Tulia at the Department of
Health on Wednesdays, Dec. 11 and
Dec. 18.
YOUNG Texas wheat farmers are'
eligible to compete for leadership
development awards totaling more
than $1000 a piece. The program of
the Texas Wheat Producers Asso-
ciation and National Wheat Grow-
ers is sponsored by Monsanto Ag-
ricultural Products Company and
the Production Credit Associations
of Texas. For more information on

THIS WEEKEND IS the annual
Pheasant Hunt for Swisher County
and surrounding areas. As is their
custom, the local women will pre-
pare breakfast and lunch at the
Community Center. The Senior
Citizens are preparing the break-
fast, which will benefit the Vigo
Park Volunteer Fire Department.
Breakfast starts promptly at 6 a.m.
Saturday, Dec. 14.
