Orthopedic Clinic
Up And Running
The Orthopedic Clinic affiliated
with the Swisher Memorial Hospital
District is operating in full swing,
according to CEO Tony Staynings.
As Staynings explained, the clinic
was staffed by Dr. Gregory Stocks, an
orthopedic surgeon with the Texas
Tech University Health Sciences
Center.
- Staynings further stated that gen-
erally Dr. Stocks would be available
on the third Thursday of each month
in the afternoon.
The clinic had begun operations
June 20, Staynings said, and would
perform minor procedures as well as
assessments.
All major surgeries would be per-
formed in Lubbock at a facility of the
patient's choice, he continued.
The district's goal through the con-
tinued addition of clinics has been to
allow Swisher County residents the
opportunity to receive rreatment from
specialists in a convenient manner,
Staynings concluded.

"Laney has served his
constituents with distinction and
honesty for more tiian two
decades. He’s earned
re-election.” . ~
Amarillo Globe News
"Laney ran the fairest,
cleanest, most open, most
democratic House in memory ..It
may sound corny, but Laney
meant what he said in a private
conversation late in the session:
All I want is for this place to
be better when I leave than it
was when I got here.”’
Texas Monthly, Ten Best List
"Laney...rose to the powerful
position of Speaker of the Texas
House of Representatives
without ever neglecting or
abandoning his concerns for the
people who elected him.”
Lubbock Avalanche Journal
"We believe this district
would be better served with the
re-election of Mr. Laney...he is
supportive of those issues
important to this region. And
he’s in a position to do
something about it.
