Tulia I.S.D
It presents information
about three lax rates. L^ast year’s tax rate is the actual rate the taxing unit used to determine property taxes last year.
This year’s effective tax rate would impose the same total taxes as last year if you compare properties taxed in both
years. This year’s rollback tax rale is the highest tax rate the taxing unit can set before taxpayers can start tax rollback
procedures In each case these rates are found by dividing the total amount of taxes by the tax base (the total value of
taxable property) with adjustments as required by state law. The rates are given per SI00 of property value.

National 4-H Congress. In December of
1989, they took their week long trip to
Chicago. While there, they went on
various tours of the city and saw many
historical as well as educational sites.
One of the best parts of the trip was the
chance to meet 4-Hers from across the
stale as well as across the nation. They
also attended a formal banquet, which
was held in order for them to meet the
Donor of their trip as well as honors all
of the Donors.
It is just the right time for 4-Hers to
begin working on record books for
1990-91. The books themselves take a
full years worth of effort and hard work
in order to develop the full potential that
the 4-Hcr has. Many limes the book
involves a whole family, which helps to
reinforce that 4-H is a family organiza-
tion. What better way to have quality
time between parents and 4-Hcrs than
setting goals, keeping records, learning
management skills and deciding what
projects to do and then working through
the projecLs and guiding or being guided
by leaders who arc familiar with the
process. For more information about
starting your record book, contact the
Swisher County Extension Office to-
day.
