GOD'S WORLD
Summers’ lonely evening rain
Soft billowly clouds float by
Wipperwills wisper softly
Weeping willows silently cry
Sun sets peacefully over the meadow
The birds echo softly through the trees
Night slowly gluids to cover the new formed rose
Time waves good-night by the gently breeze.
A newborn morning awakes the sun
The sleepy dew falls gently across the grass
A silent noise shouts, “another day has begun
A day to live, a day to love, a day to soon to pass.”
Speech center in planning stage
Further expansion may soon
be in store for Panola College,
with the addition of a proposed
Speech and Related Arts Build-
ing, according to Q. M. Martin,
college president.
Preliminary drawings now ex’st
on the building, according to Mr.
Martin. It will house classrooms,
a learning resources center, and
a new auditorium that will have
twice the capacity of the present
one. Classroom area will be de-
voted to drama classes and ra-
dio speech classes. The learn-
ing resources center will b ea
large area housing film strip ma-
chines, tape recorders, and cas-
sette playback machines, which
students will be able to employ
in studying and reviewing for
any subject.
Tentative location for the
structure is north of the gymna-
sium, across the driveway that
passes in front of the school.
The proposed building is 1400
square feet in area, of masonry
construction, and its architectur-
al form will match that of the
exisiting buildings on campus.
Financing of the construction
will be achieved with the federal
grant of $149,000. The final de-
cision of whether or not to begin
construction this year will be
made “sometime in May,” ac-
cording to Mr. Martin.
