* Be it known that I, Tom PADGITT, a citizen
of the United States, residing at Waco, in the
county of McLennan and State of Texas, have
invented and produced a certain new and origi-
nal Design for Saddle-Pads; and I do declare
the following to be a full, clear, and exact de-
scription of the invention, such as will enable
others skilled in the art to which it appertains
: to make and use the same.
The invention relates to a new and original
design for saddle-pads; and it consists of a
saddle-pad of the configuration and oruamen-
tation shown in the accompanying drawings.

The leading feature of the design com-
prises the sides 1, arranged at angles to each
other and having their upper edges forming 20
an apex which is curved longitudinally and
their outer surfaces formed with longitudinal
rows of scalloped ribs, above which is a com-
pound - curve swell which merges into the
apex formed by the upper edges of the sides 25
The ends and lower edges of the sides have
projecting therefrom scalloped trim mings
