23 and with notches 24 for engagement by
the projections 25 of said standards. The
lever 26 has the lower section 27 and the
upper detachable handle-section 28. Said*
5 lower section is formed substantially like the
lower portion of the lever 11 with a bifurca-
tion to receive the pivoted end of the stud'
and with eccentric cams 29 to. bear against
the rear side of the standard. Said lower
to section has at its outer end an arm 30 to ex-
tend into a socket 31 formed in the upper sec-
tion 28. Hence said upper section may be
attached to or detached from the lower sec-
tion at will. In this form of our invention
i5 after the point, plate, or shovel has been fas-
tened to the standard the upper section of
the lever will be detached, so that the same
will be out of the way.
From the foregoing description, taken in
20 connection with the accompanying draw-
ings, the"construction and operation of the
invention will be readily understood without
requiring a more extended explanation.
Various changes in the form, proportion,
25 and theminor details of construction may be
resortedjto without departing from the prin-
ciple or sacrificing any of the advantages of
the invention as defined by the .appended
claims.Having thus described our invention, what 30
we claim as new, and desire to secure by Let-
ters Patent, is-
1. In combination with a standard having
a slot open at one end, a lever having a cam
at one end to bear against the rear side of the 35
standard, a stud pivoted to said lever at a
point eccentric to said cam, and a shovel
having means for engagement by the head of
the stud, substantially as described.
2. In combination with a standard having 40
a slot at its lower end and forwardly-project-
ing points, a shovel having notches in its rear
side for engagement by said points, a lever
having a cam at its lower end, and a stud
pivotally connected to said lever at a point 45
