members of the depending arm 9 are like-
wise separated from each other by an inter-
val. The lower end of the arm - has re-
movable wedging engagement with the cen-,
tral portion of the bars 4, 4, between said
bars, this engagemnent being of a secure fric-
tional character, due to the spring nature
of the bars 4, 4. and of the strips or memn-
bers of the ari a) and to the wedging char-
.eter of the engagement.
1The engagement of the brace strips 10 with
the opposite sides of the lower free end of the
depending arm 9, to maintain the roosting
wings in raised position, provides for a bal-
anced strain upon sid aril 9.
Having thus described my invention,
what I claim and desire to secure by Let-
ters Patent is
1. A chicken roost, comprising support-
ing posts having at their upper ends open-
top notches, a longitudinal body bar having
reiovable engagement with said notches
and a central depending arm, roosting wings
hinged to said body bar, and brace strips
having at their upper ends hinged connec-
tion with said wings and at their lowerends removable engagement with said de-
pending arn upon opposite sides of the
same to support said wings in raised posi-
tion. 30
2. A chicken roost, comprising support-
ing posts having at their upper ends open
top notches. parallel longitudinal bars con-
necting said posts and separated from each
other by an interval, a longitudinal body 35
har hvI) ing removable engagement with said
nItches and a central depending arm hav-
ing removable wedging engagement with
said. parallel bars between the same, roost-
ing wings having hinged connection with 40
said body bar, and brace strips having at
their upper ends hinged connection with
said wings and at their lower ends remov-
able engagement with said depending arm
upon opposite sides of the same to support 45
said wings in raised position.
In testimony whereof I affix my signa-
t}re. in presence of two witnesses.
