Last Minute Gift Ideas
Race to the store with the following gift ideas in hand and
finish your holiday shopping for 2005.
By: Christie Bohm Chase, Staff Writer
There comes a year in all of our lives
when the holiday season gets away from us
and we find ourselves with only a few frantic
hours left to find gifts for our friends and
loved ones. Whether work, parties, kids or
other commitments have taken all of your
time this festive season, it is a scary spot to
be in to have all or even some of your
shopping left to do so close to the holiday.
There is no longer time to leisurely wander
around the mall looking for the perfect gift
for each person, so make the most of the
shopping time you have left and use the
following list to help you find gifts for
everyone from Mom to the mailman.

Wrap It Up
If you have waited until the final hour to
purchase your gift, you certainly have little
time for wrapping it. Wrapping is the icing on
the cake of your gift, and with a few quick
tricks you can have your gift wrapped in
mere moments.
• Festive gift bags are the fastest
wrapping option. Add some puffed up
tissue, drop your gift in the bag and
you’re done!
• If you find yourself out of gift wrap
midway through wrapping, get
creative and use newspapers and
comic pages, aluminum foil, old maps
and calendars, magazine
advertisements, or even fabric or
paper remnants such as wallpaper
and tablecloths.
• In lieu of a traditional bow, tie your
gifts with raffia, yarn, strips of fabric or
wired ribbon.
Relief For Tired Feet
After frantically buying your
gifts in the eleventh hour, your
feet will probably be killing you.
To avoid behaving like the
Grinch when greeting friends
and relatives, take a few
minutes for yourself and soak
your tired tootsies. Add two
teaspoons of Epsom salt and
soak feet for ten minutes to
stimulate circulation. Another
way to reinvigorate tired feet is
to roll a golf ball or other small
round ball under the ball of
each foot for two minutes at a
time. It will be amazing how
much better you’ll feel, and no
one will ever know that you just
completed a marathon of
holiday shopping!
