HIGH POINTS
There are 138 Unions in the City B.
Y. P. U. Federation of Houston. 52
of these Unions are Al.

Miss Alice Sibley, First Church,
Beaumont, says there are 13 Unions
in this church. Not all the Unions
are Al but she assures us they have
the will power and stickability to be-
come Al.

First Church, Houston is proud of
the fact that several young preachers
have gone out from that church.
F. B. Brisson is Directorof the Senior
Unions there and has 7 Unions in his
Department.

Organized only six months ago, 1st
Church, Cleveland, has had this mar-
velous program: 7 B. Y. P. U.'c, 130
as average attendance, 200 awards
issued. C. G. Evans reporting. If
any church can beat that, let it say so.

This year, First Church, Orange,
Texas, has only two delegates here
but next year they plan to rival
Beaumont and Gaston Avenue, accord-
ing to Mr. Ed Stobart, one of the
delegates. There are 5 Unions at
this church in Orange.

Somerville, Texas, has an unusual
record in B. Y. P. U. work. Patty
Landatt says they have 3, Al B. Y.
P. U.'s with 80 members enrolled and
every member is a tither. One of
the good things they are doing is
supporting a Native Missionary.

Juanita Christian said they reached
the Standard in two month's time.
My, what speed! There are fi,ve Un-
ions there and their goal is 100% in
Daily Bible Readings. Do you know
where Juanita is from? That splen-
did church called U nity near Gon-
zales.

At Palestine, Texas, there are 7
B. Y. P. U.'s at the First Baptist
Church with 210 enrolled and an aver-
age attendance of 150. Miss Hudson
reporting for this church said there

came every Sunday night. The or-

Texas leads all states in the South-
ern Baptist Convention in the-number
of general B. Y. P. U. organizations,
having a total of 800. Alabama
comes next with 300. Oklahoma has
third place with 227. There are on-
ly 5 states that have over 100 organi-
zations. Texas is the only State that
has more than 100 District Associa-
tions—the number is 120.

The B. Y. P. U. Magazine and the
B. Y. P. U.'s of the South are fea-
turing and emphasizing Extension
work this month. The emphases
for August will be Enlargement, for
September, Evangelism; for October,
Denominational Objects; for Novem-
ber, Stewardship; for December, Mis-
sions. Keep this in mind, B. Y. P.
UPERS and Build your programs ac-
cordingly.

Miss Eula Outlaw, who is the spec-
ial B. Y, P. U. worker in the Palo
Pinto Association, writes as follows:
"Much of my time during the day
is spent in visiting in the homes. I
visited twenty-six homes this week
and received many blessings by doing
so. We had a great time at Dobbs
Valley last week. Our work is going
fine and we are receiving much en-
couragement."

The B. Y. P. U.'s of Temple Bap-
tist Church, San Antonio, are doing
things different. That is our conclu-
sion since we heard Bernice Rowe re-
port for them. The Victor Union is
stressing this item. "Swat the Quar-
terly." Their influence in this matter
is spreading to many other Unions.
A significant name for one of their
B. Y. P. U.'s is the "Me-wakie-too"
Union. Bernice seemed to be wide
awake.

Talk about extension work—and
that is what the B. Y. P. U.'s of the
South are stressing this month.—Well
what we started to say, was this: the
B. Y. P. U.« organized the Baptist
Church at Bryan, Texas, College Sta-
tion. W. D. Neff of A. & M. said
there ws no religious program there
5 year ago. Now there is an organ-
ized church with 5 Senior B. Y. P. U.'s
average attendance of 100 to 125. 100
awards were granted last year in the
B. Y. P. U.'s They had the largest
delegation at the B. S. U. Convention
which was held at Houston in Feb-
ruary.

Mr. Charles S. Maxson, who is
working in Cook County Association
this summer, writes as follows: "We
enrolled 56 in our Training School
at Valley View last week. We think
that number was pretty good in as
| much as it represents over one-third
of the entire membership of the
church and surpasses be several, the
average attendance in the Sunday
School. On Thursday evening we had
27 visitors with us from the First
Baptist Church, Gainesville, who ac-
companied their pastor, Brother Mer-
rill. Brother Merrill is helping us out
greatly with our work."

Miss Alice Adams, who is doing B.
Y. P. U. work in Collin County Asso-
ciation is conducting some very fine
metings. One of the B. Y. P. U.
workers writes as follows concerning
Miss Adams' work: "I have never
seen anything help our B. Y. P. U. as
much as the meeting conducted by
Miss Alice Adams. It seems that all
of us have renewed interest in the B.
Y. P. U. work. Our B. Y. P. U. Di-
rector is so happy he can hardly con-
tain himself. It must have been de-
vine guidance that led her to this
place. She did a marvelous work in
getting the yumg people to see and
do their duty."
The following delegates from Cle-
burne, Texas are enjoying this En-
campment: Miss Carline Neal and
Agnes Lawson, Messrs. Charles Tay-
lor, Paul McFadden, C. L. Adams,
L. M. DeGarmo and Eddin Fine.
