Urges Plans for Trees, Shrubs
If you would like to set out
some trees and shrubs, now is
the time to be making plans for
doing so. Trees and shrubs prop-
erly arranged add much to the
looks of any home. Why not plan
now on improving the outer ap-
pearance of your place as well as
provide protection by the 'use of
windbreaks for your garden, or-
chard and livestock.
The Texas Agricultural Exper-
iment Station at Lubbock has
several thousand trees and
shrubs of about six varieties that
can be obtaiued for use as wind-
break, shelter-belt and lawn
planting. The coat of these trees
will be only $1.50 per hundred
which is much cheaper than ac-
tual cost of growing them. They
are from one and ope-half to
three feet tall. The cost of grow-
ing these trees was partially
taken care of by an appropria-
tion by the stats legislature and
the remainder by the experiment
station.
I will have blanks for applica-
tion for these trees within a few
days and will be very glad to co
operate with snyonn wishing to
secure some of these trees.
