Attendance Small at Church Sun.;
Homer Smiths in Family Reunion

Stems those who did not have
sick lolks Sunday were some-
where else except at church, as
our attendance was small.
Elvis Marley is doing as well
as can be expected at this time.
Mr. Marley suffered a heart at-
tack Thursday afternoon of last
week and is in "the Crosbyton hos-
pital
Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Spence of
Floydada visited with Mr. Mar-
ley at the hospital Friday after-
noon. Mrs. Bill Marley and Pam
of Austin came up to be with the
Marleys over the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Spence of
Flcvdada came down Saturday to
see'about Elvis, then they were
dinner guests of the Homei
Smiths, then in the afternoon
Mrs. Spence and Mrs. Smith vis-
ited their brother, S. P. Starrett,
in Crosbyton. .
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Smith and
Bessie were Sunday dinner
guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. D.
Thornhill and grandchildren,
Pam and Brad.
Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Whalen vis-
ited Saturday night in Lubbock
in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hol-
lis Whalen and Mr and Mrs.
Lovd Whalen of Dallas were al-
so visiting in Lubbock. They had
visited a few days the middle ol
the week in the A. D. Whalen
all toured
home. Sunday they
Carlsbad Caverns.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sudduth
and girls visited several days
last week with his brother and
family. Mr. and Mrs. David Sud-
duth and boys in El Paso.

Wortn Saturday, July IS, to the
home of a daughter and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Parsons and

their two other daughters and
families for a reunion, Mr. and
Mrs. Glenn Winkles and child-
ren of California and Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Long and children of
Tulsa, Okla. Sunday they all en-
joyed the day in Forest Park in
Fort Worth, as did Mr. and Mrs.
Paris Percer of Ft. Worth, Mrs.
Winkles and Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Wilkerson, all of De Leon.

recently returned from a trip to
New Orleans, La., where she vis-
ited her granddaughter and fam-

Friday Leonard, Keith and Su-
san Parker were at Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Parkers for dinner. Mon-

and Mrs. Leonard Packer’s.
Miss Susan Parker has been
visiting relatives for two weeks
now. She is staying with Miss
Sherri Parker.
Monday was the first day
Leonard Parker went back to
work. He had been in bed for a
week with a back injury.

Sunday after church Mr. and
Mrs. J .P. Reader of Ft. Worth
came by for a few days visit with
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Joplin. Mrs.
Reader is a sister of Mrs. Joplin.
The Readers and Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Morgan of Amarillo had just
returned from a trip to California,
where they visited with the Reaa-
er’s daughter and family and the
Morgan’s son and grandson.
Sunday night after church the
Readers and Joplins visited m
the Harold Trull home.
Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Campbell
and Mrs. A. B. Wall visited Mr.
and Mrs. Chester Campbell in a
Lubbock hospital one day. It
was leported that Chester would
be able to go home Sunday. We
wish them a swift recovery.
Mis Richardson and Mrs. Her-
man Xolder were both visitors
with Elvis Marley in the Cros-
byton hospital and with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.
Campbell in Crosbyton.

to his home in Wichita Falls
over the weekend. David has
spent the summer with his
grandparents.

all of Lubbock.
Bill and Dan Smith have re-
turned to their home at Bedford
after visiting their grandmother,
Mrs. George Smith, and their
aunt, Mrs. Evelyn Lowrie. Their
brother, Hank Smith, remained
here for a longer visit.

Second Lieutenant William R.
Hunsucker, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Noble Hunsucker of McAdoo, has
entered U. S. Ah Force pilot
training at Laredo AFI5.
Lieutenant Hunsucker will flv
the newest Air Force jet trainers
and receive special academic
and military training during the
year-long course. He will be a
warded silver pilot wings upon
completion of the all-jet Air
Training Command flying pro-
gram.
The lieutenant, who received
his B. B.A. degree in accounting
from Texas Technological Col-
lege, Lubbock, was commission-
