Mrs. Marks Is
Speaker For
Harmony Club
Mrs. Maxine Marks, District
Two President of the Federated
Music Clubs, was the principal
speaker at the Crosbyton Har-
mony Club’s first meeting of the
year. The meeting was a salad
supper held in the home of Mrs.
Donald Wooten.
In her address on the purpose
of Federation, Mrs. Marks said,
"We are banded together be-
cause we believe in music and
its power to touch the heart.”
The musical entertainment foi
the meeting was presented by a
trumpet trio, composed of Bill
Lancet, Bill Harkins and Pam
Rhoades. CHS Band Director
Jesse Lancet introduced their
numbers, all of which were by
Texas composers.
An arrangement of chrysan-
themums and fall flowers deco-
rated the serving table from
which the buffet supper was
served.
Officers of the ciub for this
year are Mrs. Bob Krai, presi-
dest; Mrs. Wooten, vice-presi-
dent; Mrs. Bill Kent, recording
secretary; Mrs. Jimmie Martin,
corresponding secretary; Mrs. E.
E. Medlock, treasurer; Mrs. Cleve
Gallimore, reporter; Mrs. Jim
Blagg, parliamentarian; and
Mrs. Sam Hawkes, accompanist.
New members of the organiza-
tion are Mrs. Marvin McSpaa-
den and Mrs. Jacinto Alderete.
Attending the meeting were
Mesdames Hubert Curry, R. H.
Farris, Jr., Arlie Fewell, Cleve
Gallimore, Sam Hawkes, Evelyn
Lowrie, E. E. Medlock, Dale
Rhoades, Wooten, Bob Krai, Jim-

Met Friday With
Mrs. J. Alexander
The White River Home Dem-
onstration Club met at the home
of Mrs. Jimmy Alexander Friday
afternoon at two o’clock.
Mrs. Elbert Humble called
the meeting to order. Mrs. Ralph
Parsons gave the opening exer-
cise and the roll call was an-
swered with “My favorite cos-
tume and why.” Mrs. Parsons
gave the program on “14 Points
of Dress”.
Refreshments were served to
the following members: Mmes.
Humble, Parsons, Glenn Havens,
Buran Jones, Alfred Briggs, R. W.
Saif, Dee Berry, Glenn Jones,
Gary and David, and the hos-
tess, Mrs. Alexander.
The next meeting will be Oct-
ober 2 and Mrs. Henry Slack is
to be the hostess.
Mrs. Faye Vandever and
daughters, Debbie, Pam and
Cindy, attended the Miller-Brad-
ford Family Reunion in Sey-

McAdoo Twilight Ceremony Unites
Miss Ethel Scott, David Edwards
MISS ETHEL SCOTT
Miss Ethel Lorain Scott of Roaring Springs became the
bride of Ralph David Edwards in a double ring ceremony
at 7 p.m. Saturday, September 19, in the First Baptist
Church at McAdoo. The Rev. Haywood Kube officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Scott
of Lazbuddie. Edwards is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P.
Bachman.
Vows were read before chry-
santhemums and carnations in
shades of olive green, autumn
brown, gold and rust orange
lighted by an arch of candles.
Richard Campbell of Matador
was soloist, accompanied by
Miss Euteva Coberley of Lub-
bock.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a floor length
gown with fittel bodice designed
with scalloped neckline enhanc-
ed with sequins and pearls em
broidered on Chantilly lace. The
bodice with its petal point
sleeves flowed into a full lace
skirt which tapered to a chapel
train. A tiara of miniature pearls
held the chapel-length veil or

silk illusion. She carried a bou-
quet of white carnations and
silk ribbon streamers around a
white orchid.
Mrs. C. L. Marshall of Roaring
Springs was her sister’s matron
of honor. Junior bridesmaid was
Miss Mylinda Wheeler, niece ot
the bridegroom. They wore street
length dresses made of suede
cloth with semi-fitted waistline
and featuring long sleeves set
off by tiny buttons. Mrs. Mar-
shall’s dress was olive green.
Miss Wheeler’s dress was au-
tumn brown. They wore pill box
hats with veils of silk illusion
carrying out the colors of their
dresses. They carried bouquets of
gold and bronze chrysanthe-
mums.
Ricky Edwards served as his
brother’s best man. Ushers were
Joe Childs and Burton Lathram.
Flower girls were Misses Pen-
nie Marshall of Roaring Springs,
niece of the bride, and Miss
Hope Forbs, niece of the bride-
groom. Ted Clary, nephew 01
the bridegroom, was ring bear-
er.
Fcr the reception In the church
parlor chrysanthemums in
shales of brown, gold, green and
orange with matching streamers
decorated the white lace cover-
ed serving table.
For a wedding trip to Six
Flags, Mrs. Edwards chose a
double breasted red wool suit
with a white silk blouse. She
wore black accessories and the
orchid from her bridal bouquet.
The couple will reside in Cros-
byton where Edwards, a Crosby-
ton High graduate, is employed
by the electrical department of
the City of Crosbyton. Mrs. Ed-
wards, a graduate of McAdoo
High School, has worked as sec-
retary of the First State Bank at
Matador.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Martin
and children had as their guests
last weekend her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Sloan Stribling, ana
her grandfather, F. B. Stribling,
all of Throckmorton.

Presented for
the Studv Club

Crosbyton Study Club mem-
bers had a presentation of Fall
Fashions from the Balcony Shop
presented by Mrs. Don Patton
at their meeting Thursday
morning in the home of Mrs.
Ross Cash. Mrs. J. K. Edinburgh
was in charge of the program.
Fashions were modeled by
Mrs. Edinburgh, Mrs. Forrest
Dendy, Mrs. Jimmy Dunn, Mrs.
Robert Reed and Mrs. Nathan
Boardman.
Mrs. Cash served stuffed
prunes, two kinds of nutbread
and coffee.
Guests of the club were Mrs.
C. D. Cash, Mrs. Dendy, Mrs.
Patton, Mrs. Lee Suther and
Mrs. Billy Wright Members pre-
sent were Mesdames Harold

aging the Balcony Shop in Mrs.
Patton’s absence.
