The Allen’s Point Home Demon-
stration Club met Tuesday night
March 17, at the Community Cen-
ter. Mrs. Bill Ford, club president
presided. The meeting was opened
with the group singing “America"
and “My Bonnie” accompanied by
Mrs. J. E. Meade at the piano.
The club creed and prayer were re-
peated. 9 members answerd roll
call with, “What I did today.” Mrs.
Jack Holmes gave the devotional.
The minutes were read and approv-
ed. The treasurer’s report was giv-
en. Mrs. J. E. Meade gave the
council report. She stated the first
week in May is Home Demonstrat-
ion Week.
Mrs. A. L. Collard had the pro-
gram on ‘Civil Defense.” She had
taught a Civil Defense school in
1962 in which 27 from our com
munity received certificates. It
teaches us what to do in disasters.
Since March is a tornado month
she stressed what to do if you
know a tornado is coming. Get
in the Southwest part of the house
because a tornado usually travels
south to north east.
Our next meeting will be April
7th and visitors are always wel-
come. i
