members of the Arts and Crafts
Club was held Monday noon in
the home of Gaydean Bucher.

Residents and staff members
of the Edward Abraham Mem-
orial Home are inviting all
volunteers and contributors to
the Abraham Home to a Christ-
mas reception Sunday afternoon
starting at 3 o'clock.
The reception is planned as a
way of showing appreciation to
all the many volunteers who
assist at the Home in many ways
and to those who contribute
funds for the Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynard Schafer
and Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Yarnold were in Lubbock Sun-
day for ground-breaking cere-
monies for Aldersgate United
Methodist Church. The Rev.
Mike Schafer, son of the Lynard
Schafers, is pastor of the
church.

Christmas in Our Hearts".
Yearbooks for 1989 were dis-
tributed.
Secret Sisters were revealed
with Christmas gifts, and new
names drawn for 1989.

A Christmas dinner was held
by members of Kappa Kappa
lota sorority Wednesday eve-
ning. December 7, in the home
of Peggy Pollard. Judy More-
head was co-hostess.
The dinner menu included
baked ham, poppy seed chicken,
rolls and assorted salads and
dessert.
After dinner the group played
crazy bridge.
Present in addition to the
hostesses were Eva Skaggs,
Sherry Logan, Edna Argo,
Richard and Lea Podzemny,
Dinah Wilson-Reid, Charles
Morehead and Jim Pollard.

The Little Britches 4-H Club
met Monday afternoon at the
WCTU Building for a program
on model airplanes presented by
Keith Yarnold.
Mindy Evans led the Pledge
of Allegiance and Abbie Coffee
the 4-H Pledge.
During the business meeting
the group discussed beef tickets
and a gift for Tanya Morris,
Extension Agent.
There will be a show work day
on January 14th, a shooting
sports day December 21, swine
showmanship day December 30
at the Exhibition Building and
an electric project work day
December 22.

The Canadian Duplicate
Bridge Club had a Christmas
party Tuesday night, starting
the evening with dinner at
Raneys and continuing with
bridge games at the WCIU
Building. Seven tables partici-
pated.
High scorers were Ben and
Sandra Mathers.
In second place were Clarence
Hensel and Doris Hutson, in
third place Vona Benge and
Charlotte Bussard, in fourth
place Terry Brown and Bill
Hobdy and in fifth place Allen
Webb and David Henwood.
Others playing were Ollie
Arrington, Mary Conatser,
Shelly Bchney, Virginia Rogers,
The annual Christmas party
and dinner was at the Court-
house Monday. The noon
luncheon honored Polly Goet-
tsche who will retire December
31.

Loney Fiel is a patient this
week in St. Anthony’s Hospital
in Amarillo. She had surgery
Monday morning.
Mary Lynn Schafer and Jim-
my Lane were Saturday visitors
in the home of Kate Webb.
Jimmy Lane stayed with his
grandmother while his mother
went to Darrouzett to visit with
Bonnie Green from Washington
state.
Gilbert Hill was taken to
Newman Memorial Hospital in
Shattuck, Oklahoma, last Wed-
nesday. He was transferred to
St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid,
Oklahoma, for medical treat-
ment.
Lottie Koch, Luella Miller and
Dianna Born went to Pampa
Sunday afternoon to attend a
pink and blue shower for La-
brenda Koch. Afterward they
visited in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Alfred Koch.
Last Wednesday Kellie Koch.
Kate Webb and Thelma An-
drews were in Pampa for shop-
ping.
Visitors in the home of Valen-
tine Schoenhals and Donald
Schoenhals Sunday afternoon
were Leroy and Ida Brown from
Canadian.

The Gary Story family of Wil-
more, Kentucky, will arrive
Sunday to visit for several days
with friends here and in Perrv-
ton.
Laura Lee Norris, a 1988
graduate of Canadian
High School, has completed a
course in computer work at the
Texas Institute of Dallas. She
graduated from the course on
December 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schneider
were dinner guests recently in
the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Alfred Weiderstein at Shattuck.

Wyatt attended the Basketball
Tournament at Higgins School
last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Hilimcr Koch
were at Shattuck, Oklahoma,
Monday morning for a medical
appointment. Linda Rader, Jus-

tended the noon luncheon at the
Clubhouse Monday were Jeri

Mr. and Mrs. Derryl Wyatt,
Bart and Leigh Ann, were in
Booker Monday night to attend
the Higgins-Booker Junior High
basketball game. Bart Wyatt is
a member of the Higgins team.
The Lipscomb Community
club sponsored the annual
Christmas party and supper at
the School House Saturday eve-
ning.
