nounces her candidacy
for the office of Hem-
phill Countv-31st Dis-
trict Clerk in the Re-
publican Primary on
March 10.
Mrs. Innis is cur-
rently working for
Warren Petroleum as
an Operations Assis-
tant/Relief Field Op-
erator. She was a part-
time legal secretary
for Joe W. Hayes in
the late 70’s and early
80’s.
Debra and her hus-
band, Ten?/, have
three children, Jeff of
Canadian, Eddie, a
sophomore and Dawn,
a freshman at Cana-
dian High School.
Debra is a graduate
of Canadian High
School and a member
of the First United Methodist
Church. She is a 20-year volunteer
for the Hemphill County 4-H pro-
gram, currently serving as Club
Manager of the River Valley 4-H
Club, Chairman of the Hemphill
County 4-H Parent Leader Asso-
ciation, and on the Panhandle 4-H
Program Development Advisory
Board. She was a charter member

of the Young Homemakers Ex-
tension Club, holding all offices,
and has held several offices in the
Night Owls Extension Club.
In announcing her candidacy,
Debra stated that Canadian is
home and she would like to have
the opportunity to serve as your
County Clerk, continuing the de-
pendable and helpful services that
George Briant, President of
the First National Bank, has an-
nounced that Frank “Rocky” Far-
rar has been elected to serve as a
Director on the Bank Board.
Farrar is replacing Billy B.
Davis of Pampa who has retired
from the Board after serving for
27 years.
Rocky graduated from Texas
Tech in 1971 with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Agriculture. He
moved to Canadian in 1972.
Rocky married the former
Polly Cleveland; they have four
daughters, Jenni, Leigh, Kate and
Ann. Rocky is a member of the
First Christian Church of Cana-
dian.

member, George Briant says, “We
are very pleased to have Rocky on
our board. He is a successful busi-
nessman.
He has lived in Canadian for a
long time and certainly knows the
needs of this community and the
people who live here.”

Free trees from Arbor Day foundation
Ten free flowering trees will be given to each
person who joins The National Arbor Day Founda-
tion during January 1998.
The free trees are part of the non-profit Founda-
tion’s Trees for America campaign.
The ten trees are two White Flowering Dog-
woods, two Flowering Crabapples, two Golden Rain-
trees, two Washington Hawthorns, and two Ameri-
can Redbuds.
The trees will be shipped postpaid at the right
time for planting between February 1 and May 31
with enclosed planting instructions. The six to twelve

replaced free of charge.
Members also receive a subscription to the Foun-
dation’s bimonthly publication, Arbor Day, and The
