Columbian Carbon Co. before en-
tering service November 31, 1944,
Yates was stationed on the west
coast most of the time he spent
in service. He is a graduate of
Panhandle high school and the son
of Mrs. M. E. Yates of Borger.

MUSTERING OUT PAY
•Hurry N. was inducted into
service in June 1942. He was
found to be physically unqualified
for full duty, but was accepted for
limited service. He in a rather
heavy man with weak arches from
which he suffered much pain from
time to time.
After being hospitalised a
number of times, he was finally
discharged in the spring of 1944.
just after the law was passed
providing for muslering-out pay
to honorably discharged vet-
erans.

application for the benefit to the
respective service to which ihe
veteran was attached.

The law provides that muster-
ing-out pay in amounts of $100,
6200, and $300, detrending on
length and place of service, will
be made to men and women hon-
orably discharged from the armed
forces.
In Harry’s case, he was probab-
ly discharged befoiv the law be-
came operative in fact, and he has
never received his mustering-out
pay. Red Cross is ready to help
him prepare the necessary form to
obtain the benefit. The home serv-
ice chairman will prepare the eor-
