THE BELLAIRE TEXAN
Pag# 5
Council
(Continued from Page 1)
joint public hearing before the
Planning Commission and the
City Council on an amendment
to the ordinance rezoning the
John Taylor property on Bisson-
net. The hearing was called for
8 p.m. on July 6.
The council voted some time
age to rezone the tract to allow
Mr. Taylor to construct a clean-
ing establishment on the site.
The new hearing is necessitat-
ed by a request by Mr. Taylor
to make a change in the shape
of the building. The plan as
submitted at the time of the
hearing called for a triangular
building on the site. Mr. Taylor
now asks that he be allowed to
build a rectangular building. The
proposed new plans do not show
any doors opening onto Locust
Street and also allow for more
off-street parking.
The council approved the ap-
pointment of William A. Mc-
Naughton as a deputy recorder
(judge) of Corporation Court to
serve in cases where the judge,
James R. Roos, is unable to
serve.
The city fathers voted to re-
peal two ordinances which re-
quire payment of an annual $3.00
fee by Bellaire Library card
holders who live outside the city.
