These will be given to the Ameri-
can Cancer Society where they will
be used to make bandages and

that the residents leave the sheets
in a paper sack on the front porch.
This week the news seems more
like a hospital list. Have heard of
several Meyerlanders on the ailing
list in the past few days and wish
for all a speedy recovery.
Ed Case of 5231 Beechnut has
been a temporary resident at St.
Luke’s Hospital where he recently
underwent surgery. He was hoping
to get home by Monday, January
4 to celebrate a 12th wedding an-
niversary.
Just learned of a way to get
things done in a hurry. Mrs. J. H.
Powell, Jr., found out she needed
a trip to the hospital and got her
Christmas chores done in record-
breaking time. Fortunately she got
in and out of the hospital in fairly
quick time and minimum of ser-
iousness and was home in time
to watch the last minute hustlers
in their whirlwind.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Steyer
either have already or will real
soon become new residents of
Meyerland. They have purchased
the home at 5206 Carew which
previously belonged to the Gene
Scheirman family.
The Steyers have been livlr^
at 7719 South Park. They do not
have children.
Michael Schlorff, son of Mr.
and Mrs. R. E. Schlorff of 5327
Yarwell has become a Marine.
Mike left on December 20 to re-
port for duty in San Diego, Califor-
nia.
Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Burton of
5111 Indigo are the paretns of a
new baby boy. This is the fourth
son for the Burtons and they also
have three daughters.
Was sorry to hear H. E. Treich-
ler, Jr., of 5222 Jackwoodhas suf-
fered another heart attack. Under-
stand Herb is home from the hos-
