Yipee! Tomorrow is Uie last
day of school! Think I have lost
my mind? No sir' As of Sunday
evening J have the solution to
the “what con 3 do” situation.
Just happen to have a few odd
jobs handy around the house to
be done by the first idle hands
or fussing pair.
With two young boys Sunday
evening I got more picking up
and straightening done around
dve house than I could have done
alone in a full clay.
Last night there was a “Leav-
ing Lovett Party” held for the
boys and girls from the High Six
Grade. Dr. and Mrs. Tyron Ro-
binson had the party at their
home, 4709 Maple in Bellaire,
where there was swimming,
games, and food.
Six young ladies from the
graduating class served as host-
esses. They were: Peggy Robin-
son, Jan Singletary, Mary Jane
Kirkly, Suzanne Bird, Dineen

Of course, they had no choice.
We happened to have acquired
a pet over the weekend and
either it goes or they behave.
Now that may not seem very
fair, but I am not a pet lover

music scholarship in piano at
North Texas State University in
Denton.
Miss Milner will be graduated
from Bellaire High this month
where she is a member of the
girls chorus. She is also a mem-
ber of the choir of Central Pres-
byterian Church. She has been
a piano student for eight years.
Meyerland made an excellent
showing at Johnston Junior High
School yesterday in the program
honoring the nominees for the
American Legion Award. I was
pleased to hear the names of
many Meyerlanders among the
nominees and was informed of
the following finalists:
Misses Judy Whyman. Dianah
James, Bobette DeLay, Marian j
Collier, Candy Hurd, and Susan
Leon for the girls and Hank
Bussa, Rusty Clark, Mike Bryan,
Burns’ Vick, Bob Gruner, and
David Cotlar for the boys. Two
girls and two boys from this
group were selected for the a-
wards.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hill have
been having as a visitor her ne-
phew from Illinois who has been
attending college in Dallas. The
Hills live at 5151 Indigo.
The Ray Morris home on Rice
will have visitors from Okla-
homa as Gary’s grandparents will
be here to witness his graduation
from San Jacinto High School.
Gary has been taking a vocation-
al course.
Lest I forget, if anyone has
lost a parakeet and will call me
and describe the one that was
caught loose in my back yard
Saturday, I will unhappily return
him to the owner. Assuming we
will not be able to locate the
owner, we have named “him”
Charlie. We have borrowed a
book and are all busy studying
the habits and care of parakeets.
