School. He was also chosen most
outstanding boy in the district

followed by a dinner and dance
for the 200 Southwest District
representatives in the Jesuit
Gym.

A Bellaire housewife will be
featured singer tonight when the
Country Music Band Wagon, a
musical variety group formed
to promote local artists, makes
its debut at the Breezewood
Club.
She is Mrs. Shirley Jernigan,
4315 Jim West, wife of Bellaire
Fireman J. D. Jernigan.
Mrs. Jernigan, who has been
singing since she could talk and
who has taught herself to play
the guitar, has made a record-
ing of “Bluesville” which was
recently released on the Cin-
derella Label.
She has made several appear-
ances in recent months at area
night spots including Dance
Town USA and the Western
Jamboree Club.
The Jernigans have three chil-
dren. Jackie, 5*2. Toni, 4, and
Cindy, 2 Vs*
Emceeing tonight’s entertain-
ment will be Bill Bailey and
“Bashful” Bill Bennett from
Radio Station KIKK.
Other talent on tonight’s show
will include Floyd Tillman,
Dave Edge, Joe Janca, Don
Strickhousen and Miss Bobbie
Wayne.
