Construction To Begin
This Month On Library
Construction Will begin in July
on Southwest Houston’s newest
branch library. To be called M
E. Walter Branch Library, the
building will be located at Fond-
ren and Clarewood in Sharps-
town.
The library will have approxi-
mately 7300 square feet of floor
space and will have a book ca-
pacity of 50,000 volumes. Walls
will be brick and bronze-tinted
plate glass. The main reading
room will be carpeted.
The basic colors in the library
will be grey, charcoal, and black
with vivid colors in the chair
backs and drapes.
Completion of the building is

Mr. and Mrs. Earle Lowder,
ministers of music at Bellaire
Methodist Church are enjoying
a week of study and relaxation
at Mt. Sequoyah, a Methodist
expected to be in November or
December.
Houston Builders, Inc. is the
contractor for the $149,000 build-
ing. The architect is Harvin C.
Moore.
Music Conference
encampment outside Fayetteville,
Ark.
They are attending the Juris-
dictional Conference of the Na-
tional Fellowship of Methodist
Church Musicians.
the club for the new year are
Mrs. M. W. Davis, 5819 Cerritos,
vice-president, and Mrs. R. D.
Cauley, 5830 Cartagena, secre-
tary-treasurer.
The club held its fifth annual
flower show in May at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Pyle, 5239
Lymbar. Mrs. Pyle won both the
award of distinction and the tri-
color with her arrangement of
pink roses in a double vase.
•‘Bouquets of Hospitality” was
the show theme.
