and wife. Mr. Palmer returned
Sunday but his family remained
over this week.
Rev. W. S. Evans returned
this week from Coming where
he went to visit his father who
died last week. The News joins
Bro. Evans’ many friends in
extending sympathy.
Mrs. T. J. Cox died at her
at her home near Kokomo last
Saturday morning. The Carbon
News joins a host of friends in
extending gympathy to the be-
reaved husband and family.

Church.
Next Monday night Prof.
J. M. Greer will begin teaching
a ten night singing school at the
Methodist church. Prof. Greer
recently taught a school in Car-
bon at the Baptist church and
proved himself to be a good
teacher and we are glad to have
him back in our town again.

treated last Friday to some fine

Frank Cox and Eugene Finley
who have been attending school
at Scranton discontinued their
school work and returned home
this week. They expect to re-
turn to the Scranton school next
year.

the Fifth Sunday meeting at

last Friday and Saturday.

Rev. I. D. Hull, missionary of
Cisco Baptist Association, came
in Monday from Albany where
he had attended the Fifth Sun-
day meeting. He preached at
the Baptist church in Carbon
Monday night to a good au-
dience.
Rev. B R. Wagner and family,
Misses Alice Grubb and Emma
Baker left Tuesday for Ft.
Worth to attend the Methodist
Sunday School Convention. Mrs.
Wagner will go from there to
Graham to visit her relatives
and the others will return to
Carbon Saturday.
Now is a good time to begin
painting and J|. S. Reese says
that the Carbon Lumber Co. has
enough paint to cover the whole
town, and it is at reasonable
prices.
J. B. Day and wife of Rotan
came in about two weeks ago to
visit their daughter Mrs. W. C.
Gorman. They have been test-
ing the virtues of the Carbon
mineral water since they came
and are highly pleased with the
results. They will remain over
a few more days for the benefit
of the water.

day is city election day.
