$250 MILLION PROJECT TO START IN SHARPSTOWN
Frank W. Sharp, developer of Houston's
huge Sharpstown residential community, an-
nounced today that ground will be broken
shortly for an unusual new Sharpstown de-
velopment, in Southwest Houston. This
photo of the model of Sharp's $250,000,000
project shows how the project will look
when it is completed' in 1975. It will include
42 multi- s t o r y residential condominium
buildings on a 100-acre tract north of the
$30,000,000 Sharpstown Center. This view
looks northeast from the corner of Fondren
Road and Clarewood Drive. The planned
Chicks, Chucks Costume Party
development of condominium apartments
will house more than 4000 families. Town-
house and garden apartment dwellings, as
well as multi-story apartments, all owned by
occupants, are included in the master plan.
Sharp's project, largest of its kind .ever un-
dertaken, was planned after a Texas law
passed in 1963 made possible the develop-
ment of "vertical subdivisions" in Texas.
Plans are being completed for the simul-
taneous groundbreaking of the first two 15-
-tory apartments, shown at right, which will
start construction work on the development.
The Chicks and Chucks social
club will hold a low rent cos-
tume party on March 21 from
8 to 11:30 p.m. at the Westerner
Restaurant, 5911 Richmond Rd.
