CIVIC CLUB — Don’t forget—
Membership drive starts today.
Sometime, during June or July,
someone will be calling on you.
Let’s make this the biggest and
most active year the civic club
has ever had. If you have not
been contacted by meeting time,
Tuesday, June 14, come and
bring your dues.
A decision on the mosquito
control contract has not been
made yet, but a board meeting
has been called for that purpose.
Will definitely have the infor-
mation next week.
CLUB NEWS — Most of the
clubs are out for the summer
but the boat club is going strong.
They had their meeting last week
to issue flags and planned family
family outings to West Bay. Just
one hitch—they planned it for
the same day the public school
children go for their report
cards. What now?
Will be getting the results on
the winners of the bowling
league trophys and money prizes
next week. Also will have the
names of officers for next year.
The garden club coffee had to
bb postponed because of illness
in the president’s family. To be
set for a later day.
There has been some response
to the idea of a “Democrat’s
Club” and “Republican’s Club”
but not enough to form one. Both
party headquarters have offer-
ed their best speakers and any
help that might be needed. If
there is anyone else interested,
please contact me.
