• Investigating officers said Mr.
Legg, who was riding on a bi-
cycle, was riding west on Mc^
Dermed and was struck by the
truck headed north on Post Oak:
Officers said the truck driver,
28-year-old J. P. Ellis of Austin,
swerved off the left side of the
road, attempting to avoid hitting
Mr. Legg. The driver was trans-
porting the howitzer from Army
Reserve Headquarters at 1850
OST to Fort Hood.
Mr. Legg was sexton of Salem
Lutheran Church and also a
meiriber o'f the church. '
Funeral services were held
Thursday from Salem Lutheran
with Earthman* Southwest Fu-
nerals in charge of arrange-
ments. Tiie body was sent to
Manchester, Iowa, for services
and burial.

whom he made his home, sis-
