It was just four years ago to-
day that my spouse and I signed
papers to purchase a new home.
This was a four bedroom house
with separate dining room, etc.
tiiat I hod been wanting. To
make a long story short, we keep
that house only two months and
then sold it because two houses
is one too many to own at once.
Ever since we have been talk-
ing and looking. Now we are
building Most of last week I
thought we would soon have no
house as this one is not complete
and our present residence which
«S'for sale was almost sold.
Due to a few differences of
opinions the deal fell through
and we stilJ have a place to live
until the new one is complete.
' Happy birthdays are in order
today for Patty McAfee. She is
the four year old daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. R V. McAfee. 5147

.plasters Lance McKenzie of
QtyQ6 Prichett and Jerry Hays of
$7,03 Ferris are each another year
older as the result of May birth-
. Lance is now included in the
many ten ..year old boys of this

Jerry is just a year younger
since his ninth birthday last
week.
Monday afternoon and Tues-
day night brought the close of
Cub Scout meetings for Den 2
ms we disband during the sum-
mer months with the exception
of pack activities on a monthly
basis. Tuesday night was gradu-
ation for a group of WEBELOS
in Pack 112 when they gathered
at Lovett Elementary School. In-
cluded in this group were Wil-
liam Adair, Bruce Adams. Wal-
ter Jonas, Greg Hall, Stan Mans-
field. John Me Cleary* and Den-
nis Meek in.
Susan Cole, Jerry Dennis, Ann
Hunt, Bobby Kelly, Joene Moore,
Mnrcy Smith. Jack Ulsh, Suzan-
ne West, Cherrie White and Pam
Kurner.
A Beach Party at Galveston
is planned for the incoming sen-
ior highs at St. Johns. The date
is June 3 with more plans to
be announced later.
There have been several extra
people at the W R. Davis, Jr.
residence over on Ferris the last
few days as a member of the
family is graduating from Texas
A & M, and the Louisiana rela-
tives are attending ceremonies in
College Station.
John Ozmun, Jr., is now at
home, 5250 Jackwood, after
spending several days in Bellaire
General Hospital with a broken
leg. John is up and around some
in his big cast.
Heard a report that Mrs. Edw.
W. De Jon, 5223 Jackwood, has
recently been a hospital patient
for minor surgery at St. Lukes.
Hope to hear another report soon
that she is doing fine and back
as busy as ever.
St. John’s Presbyterian Church
will honor the senior high grad-
uates with a "Farewell Gradu-
ates Progressive Dinner” Fri-
day night, May 25. All senior
high students are urged to at-
tend. Those graduating include
FIRST PAY CAMP SESSION
HAS LARGE ENROLLMENT
Mrs. T W Walter, 5001 Holly,
director of Girl Scout Southwest
Day Camp Session I is just
beaming over the large enroll-
ment, but she is in need of a
few more adult volunteers to
fill in established units, since the
enrollment exceeded expecta-
tions. The camp will be held at
Camp Wildwood, out Memorial
Was real pleased to see Steve
Lazzara stepping out quite well
dressed just the other evening
with a corsage box in hapd. Af-
ter a brief quiz we learned it
was the Junior Prom and Steve
is fully recovered from his re-
cent accident and was out to
enjoy good music with a pret-
ty little lady
Little League activities are
moving along nicely especially
with no rain to delay games. To
the best of my knowledge, there
is only one undefeated team in
the League. The Colts of the Na-
tional League had not lost a
game as of Saturday afternoon.
If you haven’t been out to
watch the boys yet, you best hur-
ry as they are improving so fast
you won’t believe it. There are
games at St Thomas Church and
Meyerland park nearly every
day.
