of Carbon District Union in Car-
bon on the 1st Saturday in May
at 2 p. m.. The next regular
meeting will be on the 1st Satur-
day in July.

of land from J. D. Brumrnel near
the college. This finishes the 8
acre tract that Mr. Brumrnel
purchased some time ago for
speculation and he in formes us

The Eastknd County Normal,
which will be held in Cisco, will
open June 24th and will continue
until July 30th under the direc-
tion of Prof. R. P. Garrett, of
Cisco, conductor, Prof. J. E. T.
Peters, of Ranger, and Prof. W.
H. Jones, of Rising Star, will be
assistants.
Prof. O. C. Britton of Scran-
ton visited his many friends here
Saturday.
The revival meeting at the
Methodist Church is still in pro-
gress. Rev. Cox returned Mon-
day to his home at Graham and
Rev. Cameron of DeLeon came
in Monday evening to continue
the meeting with the pastor. A
good interest is being manifested
and there have been some con-
versions and additions to the
church.
Prohibition Election Eor
Eastland County.
A petition was circulated in
Carbon this week asking the Com-
missioners Court to order an ele-
ction to ascertain whether or not
there shall be intoxicating lipuors
sold in Eastland County. We
are informed that the petition
had already been circulated in
other towns in the county and
had enough signatures to get the
election.
