BETTYE MCGEHEE
Ninth grader Bettye McGehee,
4822 Hazelton, is the only student
from Johnston Junior High School
selected to play in the All-State
Youth Orchestra which will per-
form this weekend in Dallas at the
convention of the Texas Music
Educators Assn. Bettye plays
violin., in the shcool orchestra
which is directed by Leslie Mun-
son. She also plays in the All-
City Orchestra, Harry Lantz di-
rector. She studies privately
under Mrs. Josephine Boudre-
aux.
BOB ONSTEAD
Bob Onstead, presidentofRan-
dall-Evans Super Markets, was
elected president of the Retail
Grocers Assn, of Houston at the
election banquet held Jan. 20 at
the Warwick Hotel. Mr. Onstead
is a member of the Department
of Research and Education for the
National Association of Retail
Grocers in Chicago and a direc-
tor on the board of the Texas
Retail Grocers Assn, in Waco.
He and his wife and their four
children live at 5302 Yarwell
