Pre-Nuptial
Parties Fete
Miss Boydstun
Mrs. Raymond R. Hawthorne,
4625 Briarbend Drive, honored
Miss Barbara Boydstun, bride-
elect of David Seay, with a morn-
ing coffee, Friday, January 29th.
An heirloom hand - crocheted
tablecloth adorned the formally
set table. The centerpiece was an
altar scene of a miniature wedding
party, created and hand-painted
by the hostess. Mrs. William B.
Gordon, 5022 Heatherglen, and Mrs
Claude Mayne, 10010 Briar Rose,
served over 50 guests.
Miss Boydstun has been feted
throughout the city in December
and January with many other par-
ties and showers.
M’S. Sindey Croft honored the
bride-to-be at a scout reunion
in her home at 10826 Moonlight
DrivA, Westbury, and presented
her the traditional piece of silver
from the group. The hostess used
a large wedding bell of white mesh
entwined with ribbons on her
festive table. About twenty at-
tended.
Another pre-nuptial affair in
honor of Miss Boydstun was a
coffee give by Mrs. O. P. Gill,
3524 Amherst, Mrs. C. T. Dres-
chel, 6623 Edloe, and Mrs. Albert
C. Fraser, 5301 Aspen, In the
latter’s home in Bellaire. Pink
roses and stock enhanced the table
at which members of the Alpha
Delta Pi Mothers Club were ser-
ved.
Mrs. C.J. Collier, Jr., a close
friend of the bride-elect and her
family, entertained with a kitchen
shower in her home, 8119 DeLeon
in Glenbrook Valley. Several of
the city’s flower show judges were
guests, and their talents were evi-
dent in many ways. Mrs. Charles
Duran, 7311 Oak Hill Drive, pre-
sided at the punch bowl. Miss
Linda Maurer of Austin, niece of
Mrs. Collier’s also assisted with
the party. An arrangementof pur-
ple cabbage and yellow gladioli
was used as a centerpiece.
Miss Carla Tulles and Miss
Elise Zerr of San Antonio came
to Houston to honor the bride-
to-be with a miscellaneous show-
er in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Hugh McDonald, 9403 Timberside.
Mrs. Oscar Tulles of San Antonio
served. For decorations, thehos-
tesses used a large bride center-
piece and wedding bells.
White net over pink satin was
the tablecloth used for the house-
hold shower given by Mrs. Ward
Dillard, 3305 Aberdeen, and Mrs.
Roland Voight, 3711 Bluebonnet,
at the Aberdeen address. The
centerpiece wascomposedofshad-
ed tones of pink grapes and flow-
ers. The groom-elect, as well as
his bride-to-be, were honored by
this group.
A rehearsal dinner for the bri-
dal party will be held at Kaphan’s
South Garden Room. Mr. and Mrs.
M. D. Seay, parents of the groom
are the hosts.
