You know how folks talk about
the “big freeze of ’92.’’
Well, we’ve had just about such
|a winter as that—in reverse—this
ear.
If there ever was some to-
morrow’s history in the weather
eport, it came up this past, very
mild winter.
On Sunset Boulevard during the
weekend, one front yard bed
sported the following remarkable
assortment of plants:
A flaming p o i n s e 11 i a, the
Christmas flower of fall and
early winter which nearly al-
ways is nipped by frost before

Christian Science
Sets Service
“Unreality” is the subject of the
Lesson-Sermon which will be read
all Churches of Christ, Scien-
tist, on Sunday, April 2.
The Golden Texas is: “Surely
I God will not hear vanity, neither
will the Almighty regard it” (Job
35:13).
Among the citations which com-
prise the Lesson-Sermon is the
(following from the Bible: “For the
eyes of the Lord are over the
ighteous. and his ears are open
unto their prayers: but the face
of the Lord is against them that
do evil” (I Peter 3:12).
The Lesson-Sermon also in-
cludes the following passage from
the Christian Science textbook,
“Science and Health with Key
to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker
Eddy: “Ignorance of God is no
longer the stepping-stone to faith”
(preface vii).
To see these three plants bloom-
ing side by side would make a
horticulturist blink several times—
anywhere but in Houston.
