Helping spread the news about the St. Agnes Mother’s Club
annual card party, style show and luncheon, are, left to right,
Mrs. V.K. Hmcer, 8210 Hillcroft, ticket co-chairman, and
Mrs. P.F. Finnegan, 3301 Merrick. The event is scheduled
from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the new school, 9000
Bellaire Blvd. Tickets may be obtained from any member of
the Mother’s Club. Equipment for the new school will be
purchased with the proceeds. Other area members working on
the party are Mrs. P.F. Finnegan, 3301 Merrick. Mrs. M.B.
Quigles, 3118 Garrett, and Mrs. C.J. Ruddy, 4114 Mischire.

that 50 youth groups have al-
ready signed up to participate in
the parade and more are expec-
ted to join the ranks right up
to marching time.
Youth groups or individual
young people who haven’t al-
ready signed up may just report
to the parade assembly point,
Third at Linden, at 10 a.m. Sat-
urday and they will be assigned
a position in the line of march.
The parade will get underway
promptly at 10:30.
There will be a color guard
and four marching bands—Bell-
aire'High School, Jane Long Jun-
ior High, Johnston Jr. High and
Pershing Jr. High.
Boy Scout Explorer Post 112,
sponsored by the South End
Optimists, will be riding in four
antique autos.
A number of Optimist digni-
taries will be on hand including
District Governor T. C. “Pete”
Parker, Zone Three Lieutenant
Governor W. L. Hall and the
presidents of the five Zone Three
Optimist clubs — Tangle Oaks,
Morning Club, Evening Club,
South End Optimist and Bellaire
Optimist. Mrs. Lola Toft, presi-
dent of the Bellaire Opti-Mrs.
Club, will attend.
The parade will feature a dec-
orated float carrying five b%
and five girl finalists from Bell-
aire High School in the Harris
County Youth Scholarship Com.
petition.
There will be a variety of
marching groups including foot-
ball teams, drill squads, Scout
and Cub Packs.
The parade route will be up
Third to Cedar, to Bissonnet to
Bellaire Blvd. to Rice to disband
at the gymnasium parking lot.
’Twill be a fine day for Bell-
aire—so plan to be on hand to
applaud the young people.
