Camp Fire Girls Begin Candy Sale
Cedar Hill Camp
Fire Girls this week
began their annual
Candy Sale. The sale
which begins officially
Friday, November 12,
will continue through
November 29.
The candy sale is
the only fund raising
project allowed Camp
Fire Girls. Funds
from the sale go to
finance camp expenses
and to provide camp
Scholarships for girls
who might nol otner-
wise be able to attend
camp.
The Cedar Hill
Y. M. C. A. Eagles,
coached by Don Smith
and Jim Olson, racked
up their third league
win last Saturday a-
gainst the Duncanville
Longhorns. The final
score was Eagles 21
and Longhorns 0.
Scott Olson ran for
the first Eagle touch-
down midway through
the first half. A few
plays later, Jeff Smith
intercepted a Longhorn
pass and ran 30 yards
for the second Eagle
tally. The half ended
with score 12 to 0, but
not before Tracy Hud-
son recovered a Long-
horn fumble, and Jeff
Smith intercepted an-
other Longhorn pass.
In the second half,
Bryan Barnes broke
loose from the Long-
tfiorn defense and ran
65 yards for the third
Eagle touchdown. Jeff
Smith made the extra
point conversion on a
pass from Tracy Hud-
son. The F.agles con-
tinued to make their

A week-long work-
shop to assist un-
licensed nurse gradu-
ates in passing the
state licensing ex-
amination begins in
Dallas Monday.
The evening classes
will be conducted Nov.
8-12 from 5-9:30 p. m.
at Parkland Memorial
Hospital, 5201 Harry
Hines Blvd. The same
class will be conduct-
ed Nov. 29-Dec. 3 in
the mornings 8 a. m.-
noon.
The five session#,
sponsored by the Tex-
as Nurses Association
Licensure Qualifica-
tion Project, will
familiarize nurse gra-
duates with the sta—
dardized objective test,
as well as providing
practice in taking test
similar to the State
Board Test Pool Ex-
amination.
"Through this work-
shop, we will help de-
termine individual nu-
rses' strengths anc|
weakness in each clini-
cal nursing area," Miss
Lynell King, R.N., co-
urse leader and pro-
ject coordinator said.
