That Hiirglai'y.
Some ten days ago J. J. Stoty’s
store was broken into and robbed of
a few cpnned goods, amounting' to
but a few dollars at the outside,
from the character and quantity of
goods taken, it seems to have beeu
perpetrated more as a frolic and a
feast than any thing else. It was
kept quiet, and we refrained, from
mentioning it last week, hoping the
perpetrators of the crime would ho
thrown off their guard and let out
eomc hint that would lead to their dis-
covery. While it was a small affair,
so fur as the real loss Is concerned,
yet, if winked at by our citizens, is
likely to be repeated, and we will find
every house in Linden, systematically'
burglarized. It should be the duty
of every citizen to use every mintin'
possible to discover the thieves and'
Bring them to justice, aud thus try to
“nip in the hud” every thing of the
kind. ’Evidently there were several
engaged in lhe business and, so far
os we have learned, there is nothing
to indicate whether the perpetrators
were whiteor black,
