Palacios now of Long Island City,
Now York, sends word of the death
of his mother, Mrs. Lulia Stewart
Johns, 90 years of age, at their
family residence on March 18 with
burial in Culpepper, Virginia on
Sunday, March 20.
Mrs. Lulia Stewart Johns was
survived by her son, Dr. A. E.
Johns, three grand children and
four great grand children.

AN OIL, GAS AND MINERAL
LEASE ON CITY PROPERTY
Notice to bidders is hereby given
of the iptention of the City Council
of the City of Palacios, Matagorda
County, Texas, to execute an oil,
gas and mineral lease, in accord-
ance with the provisions of Article
5400a of the Revised Civil Stat-
utes, State of Texas, on the follow-
ing described city property situated
in Matagorda County, Texas, to-
wit:
A part of the Municipal Airport
of the City of Palacios, and being
1,050 acres of land', more or less,
and being a portion of the lands
described in conveyances from the
United States of America to the
City of Palacios, recorded in
Volume 179, pages 523-530 of the
Deed Records of Matagorda Coun-
ty, Texas, and in Volume 197, pages
55-62 of the Deed Records of Mata,
gorda County, Texas, to which
instruments reference is hereby
made for a more particular descrip-
tion.
Said governing body of the City
of Palacios will receive bids for
said mineral lease at 7:30 P. M. on
the 4th day of April, 1955, in the
City Hall of Palacios, Texas. The
City Council reserves the right to*
reject any and all bids submitted.
