LULAC Council To
Sponsor 'Pay Your
Poll Tax' Dance
A Poll Tax Drive and Dance
will be sponsored by the local
LTJLAC Council 184 of Palacios
Friday nite, January 22 at the
Palacios Pavilion, to assist the
people and giving them an op
portunity to pay their Poll Tax.
The LULACs all over the na
tion stress its people to be good
Citizens, in that we must excercise
the right to vote in elections of the
Community, State and Nation.
LULAC and other Latin Ameri-
can Civic clubs are encouraging its
people to vote. How they vote n-
their business. The fact that the;,
vote is what counts. You also dc
your share as an individual Ameri-
can when you recognize and accept
your deep responsibility as a citizen
of the Nation that leads the free
world.
Every one will be admitted free
to the dance, upon paying then
Poll Tax there, or by presenting
the new one, if already paid for.
The local LULACs are grateful
to the management of the Palacios
Pavilion for their untiring coopera-
tion and all of those who contribute
freely to make this possible.—

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERVICES
Christian Science Services are
held every Sunday morning at the
V.F.W. Hall.
The importance of honesty ana
unselfishness in seeking spiritual
understanding of God vail be
brought out in the Lesson-Sermon
entitled “Truth” to be read in
Christian Science churches Sunday.
The need of teachableness and
receptivity, as highlighted in the
parable of the sower, and Jesus’ ex
planation of it, as recorded in the
Bible in Luke 8:4-15, will be read.
The following correlative cita-
tion will be among selections read
from “Science and Health with Key
to Sci-iptures” by Mary Baker
Eddy:
“The spiritual sense of truth
must be gained before Truth can be
understood. This sense is assimilat.
ed only as we are honest, unself-
ish, loving, and meek. In the soil
of an ‘honest and good heart’ the
seed must be sown; else it beareth
not much fruit, for the swinish
element in human nature uproots
it” (272:3-8).
The Golden Text is from Deuter
onomy:
“Ascribe ye greatness unto oui
God. He is the Rock, his work is
perfect: for all his ways are judge-
ment; a God of truth and withou
iniquity, just and right is he”
(32:3,4).
ARTHRITIS!
I have been wonderfully blessed
in being restored to active life
after being crippled in nearly
every joint in my body and with
muscular soreness from head to
foot. I had Rheumatoid Arthritis
and other forms of Rheumatism,
hands deformed and my ankles
were set.
Limited space prohibits telling
you more here but if you will
write me I will reply at once and
tell you how I received this won-
derful relief.
