Turtle Bay Home
Demonstration Club
The Turtle Bay Home Demon-
stration Club met at the home of
Mrs. C. C. Ramsey on Friday, Feb-
ruary 11.
After the business meeting, Mrs.
R. H. Neeley and Mrs. R. C. Cun-
ningham gave the program on
Care of Walls and Floors.
The next meeting will be with
Mrs. A. V. Miller on February 25.
Any member that wishes to deco-
rate a cake, is requested to bring
a smooth iced cake. The program
will be Cake Decorating, if you
are interested in learning you may
work on your own cake.
U. S. President Johnson was im-
peached by the House and acquit-
ted by the Senate.
ATHENA CLUB
The Athena Club met February
21 with twenty members answer-
ing roll call.
Miss Claire Hansen gave a very
informative paper on “Modern
Trends in Interior Decorating,”
stressing that the proper use of
color is very important.
Mrs. J. I. Powell had “Garden-
ing” as her topic. She told how the
new home owner may quickly
achieve a beautiful yard, thus in.
creasing the value of his property
and enriching his family’s daily
living.
The three main racial divisions
are white, yellow and black.
The bee’s hum is due to the rapid
vibration of its wings.
Prairie Center Home
Demonstration Club
The Prairie Center Home Demon-
stration Club met at the home of
Mrs. Fulton Lothridge with twenty
members present.
The meeting came to order with
• lie reading of the Texas Home
Demonstration Prayer. The making
of aprons to sell at our barbecue
was discussed.
Delicious refreshments of pine-
apple and cheese salad, ritz, cookies
and coffee were served by the
hostess.
The next meeting will be an all
day meeting at the club house.
Bring a covered dish and what-
ever you plan to work on. The
meeting will begin at 9 a.m.—Re-
porter.

PAPPADAS ARE MARRIED IN HOUSTON
Miss Eunice Glares and Tasos
John Pappadas were married Sat-
urday by Rev. George Kalpaxis in
the Hellenic Orthodox Church in
Houston. The bride is the daugh-
ter of Mrs. Manuel Glaros, 2202
Southmore and the late Mr. Glaros.
The groom’s parents are Mr. and
Mrs. John A. Pappadas, 443C

The bride, escorted to the altar
by her brother, Dr. John M. Glaros
wore a designer’s gown of Italian
satin trimmed in Alencon lace
which was fashioned with a square
neckline and deep V back. The
pleated back of the Empire gown
extended into a circular train. Her
tiered veil of French illusion ex-
tended beyond the train, and was
attached to a scalloped cloche of
lace etched with pearls. She carriec’

The bride’s sister, Mrs. George
J. Lewis, was matron of honor and

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Silver-
berg left Friday on their home-
ward trip to Litchfield, Minn, after
spending several weeks here en-
joying our nice Texas weather.
Frankie Orsak, Jr. of Louise
spent the week-end with his uncle
and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome
Kovar and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Loff and
girls, Violet and Sarah, spent Sun-
day in Bay City with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Lynn.
Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Abraham and
family visited in Olivia Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cavallin.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Harris spent
the week-end in Houston visiting
his brothers.
Mrs. Jerome Kovar and daugh-
ters, Joan, went to El Campo Fri-
day to see her father.
Next Sunday Rev. W. J. Weimer
has services at our church at 9
A. M. Sunday school follows the
services. Everyone is cordially in-
vited.
Holmes Drilling Co. has com-
pleted another gas and distillate
well. This one being on the F. E
Appling Ranch.
Johnnie McDaniel
Elected Sweetheart
At Sul Ross College
Johnnie McDaniel of Palacios
was recently elected Sweetheart
of Ferguson Hall, girls’ dormitory
of Sul Ross State College, and she
was crowned at the Valentine Day
Dance.
Miss McDaniel is president of
Ferguson, and also a member of
Who’s Who in American Colleges
and Universities from Sul Ross.
She is junior majoring in Business
Administration.
Elected from the other girls’
dormitory was Miss Rosemary
Urias, junior from Fort Stockton.
The election and coronation of a
Valentine Sweetheart is an annual
affair, but this is the first year
the enrollment has justified the
maintenance of both dorms, there-
fore requiring two sweethearts, one
from Ferguson and one from
Lawrence.
ALAPHA CLUB
The Alapha Club met Monday'
evening at the Presbyterian Chapel
with 18 members present.
The program was given by
Patsy Sells on “Religious Training
in the Home” and Christine Huff-
man on “Importance of Sunday
School.”

Yvonne Sotiriades. They selected
ballerina length gowns of lemon
starched organza accented with
coral sashes. Their headdress was
a lemon velvet and pearl bandeaux
and they carried yellow ranunculi
and Talisman roses.
P. V. Pappas was best man, and
groomsmen were J. A. Pappadas,
Jr., Jack M. Glaros, George H.
Michael and Bernard W. Purdum.
Ushers were George J. Lewis, G.
C. Pappas, Dr. Peter J. Pappas,
Angelo Peterson, Chris Semos and
Thomas Thomas.
The newlyweds left for a wed-
ding trip to Acapulco and Mexico
City after the reception in the
Crystal Room of the Rice Hotel.
They will reside at 1742 Ports-
mouth St. when they return in two
weeks.
The house party at the reception
included Mrs. John M. Glaros, Mrs.
Jack M. Glaros, Mrs. William J.
Kandis, Mrs. George J. Gatoura,
Mrs. George A. Standish, Mrs.
James M. Harrington, Mrs. Rich-
ard H. Jones, Miss Matina Pappas,
Mrs. Angelo Peterson, Miss Rula
Economou, Miss Katherine Eco-
nomou and Miss Bobby Jean Rich-
ards.
Attending from Palacios were
