JOY IN QUAKERTOWN OVER BRAZIL
D
Quakertown funs are joyful since Connie Muck has acquired a first base-
man who can slain the hull as well as field. Frank Brazil seems to have
plugged the hole for the initial sack by tils all-round ability.
HERMAN IS KNOCKING
OUT BANTAMWEIGHTS
Tipping Over His Opponents With
Much Regularity.
Little Italian Cannot See Out of One
Eye, but Antagonists Cannot Lo-
cate Bum Optic—Chance to
Cop Lost Laurels.
Pete Herman Is getting more spot-
light as a comeback than he got as
j champion of the bantams. He’s
I changed from a fighter who was con-
j tent to go along to u fighter who makes
declaims with his fists.
Herman is literally stacking ’em
these days. As a champ he boxed no-
decision fights. He was outpointed
j often. He was an unpopular title-
holder.
Stung to action by the loss of his
crown he went to England and gave
Pete Herman.
Jimmy Wilde the first knockout he had
ever taken. Returning, Herman start-
ed tipping over opponents.
It Is said Herman cannot see out of
one of his eyes.
But none of the boxers he fights
have been able to locate his good eye
and work oil It.
Fans n~e rallying hack to the side
of the little Italian. They like him be-
cause lie is trying Ills best to knock
out all Ills opponents.
Lynch, on the other hand, Is boxing
no-deelslon bouts and barely holding
his own.
Young Montreal won 7 out of 10
rounds In a mix with Lynch In Cleve-
land a few nights ugo. But Lynch’s
title was safeguarded by the no-deel-
slon attachment.
Dope on the bantams Is pretty well
mixed up Just now. There’s o whole
flock of them—Joe Burmnn. Carl Tre-
maine, Young Montreal, Jack Wolfe
ami Pete Herman—all on the same
level with Lynch practically.
If Herman continues his knockout
system of elimination he’ll be matched
with Lynch again this summer. Lynch
has promised to give him a crack at
the title soon.
Fans who have seen Herman In ac-
tion recently believe he has a good
chance to cop his lost laurels.
