1942, the Organ Grinder
and His Two Monkeys
It was on the first day of January

# i .a*#-- ,
When Hitler took over personal com-
mand of the broken down army in front
of Moscow he gave as his first order the
immediate taking of Sevastopol.
How well his promises and orders
have been fulfilled is about like the in-
tention of Kaisci Bill to eat Christmas
dinner in Paris.
The collapsing: of the forces under
Hitler in the closing days of the year
1941 will go down as one of the great-
est fights on the part of Russia in their
country as well ias the fight put up by
the British forces in North Africa, the
two administering the most stinging de-
feats of all times.
Each year Hitler has a way of mak-
ing an address on the first day of the
year and promising great and glorious vic-
tories. He has about made his last
speech of that kind for after this tear
there is every chiance that there will be
no more of Hitler. And what can be
said of Hitler the chief organ grinder,
may as well he said of his monkeys in
Italy and Japan.

which we have never before been engag-
ed in. We have our backs still to the
wall, not so much as they were, to be
sure, but still it is a fact
that we are fighting a defensive war and
we shall not he entirely on the way to
victory until we can turn the
