Latest Developments For
Oil Grayson County
New interest in oil activity at the door
of Denison is based, according to reports,
on actual production being found, at a
depth of 3883 feet, the initial flow being a
barrel a minute for the first twenty-five
minute test. The next hour is said to have
brought in twenty-five barrels.
The gravity tested is reported at 32.6
with a high gasoline content. That in it-'this state into voting
self, establishes the oil and the, depth at
which it is found as being something to
consider in a most promising light and
enough to challenge attention of those in-
terested in oil development.
As a matter of fact, nothing will do
more to bring a community alive to good
business and better days than a discovery
well which leads to an active field.
Denison parties are interested in the
development of oil in this general section
and geological reports are highly in favor
of an active drilling campaign. That the
hit, which is the last tester, has made
answer so favorably in the discovery well
indicated and which is known as Neather-
iy No. 1, there is every reason for activity
lo again be manifested in Grayson county.

The frightful number of highway ac-
cidents on the roads of Texas must be re-
duced and any campaign to that end
which will turn the trick ought to be given
hearty cooperation. To think of the faet of
2,000 persons being killed in this state on
streets and highways during the past year,
is enough to stir the deepest determination
| io end this slaughter.
__DO--
Now Mr. Roosevelt says he favors do-
ing away with the poll tax and letting ev-
erybody vote. He would say that at a time
when lie is trying to open the flood gates
that would let all macontcnts, liberals,
glass-eyed theorists, communists, reds and
whatnots in order to get through his new
deal. He sees the people rising in opposi-
tion to his new deal and farm program and
now is trying to save the ship lie launched
from destruction. Texas people want the
poll tax and his statement that the poll
tax was an “outgrowth of requirements
