Mrs. Myrtle Edmonds of Clovis,
arid Joe Johnson of Mineral Wells,
visited their sister, Mrs. D. A. Per-
kins, tn Shamrock last week. It
was the first time the three had
been together tn 40 year* Mr. John-
son returned home Sunday while
Mrs. Edmonds Is remaining with
her sister for a longer stay.
Mrs. J. J. Baird, who has been
spending the summer In Ouymon,
Okla., and Albuquerque. N.M., is In
Dalhart this week visiting with her
sisters, and plans to return to
Shamrock in a few days.

M. S. Kavanaugh of Slaton, for-
mer Shamrock school man, visited
relatives and friends In Shamrock
the past week-end. His brother,
Allan KavanaUgh. and Mrs. Kava-
naugh of Wheeler, were here also.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Williams and
son, Terry, of Lubbock, spent the
week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Bit
Mayfield and other Shamrock
friends. They visited relatives In
Canadian before returning home.

the home of Mr. and Sirs. Winfred
Lewis last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Mayfield
and children left last week for the
Gulf coast and will visit in New

vid. are visiting In Runge, Texas
tn the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. H.
Evans, relatives of her husband.

derwent treatment at Scott and
White Hospital.
Mrs. Thurman Adkins left Thurs
day afternoon for West Pork, Ar-
kansas, to visit her uncle and aunt,
Mr. and Mrs. j. a. Spikes.
Mrs. Bob dark and son. John
visited this week in the home of
her mother. Mrs. O. M. Marsh of
Sayre, Okla.
Mrs. La Verne Wlznesky of Hous-
ton. was here a few days the past
week, visiting with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. BUI Phillips.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stevens and
daughters, Von Rae and Jaunell, of
Lufkin, were here over the week-
end visiting with Mrs Stevens par
enta. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Carver.
Mr. and Mrs. Stevens were en route
home from Greeley. Colo., where
they have been In school during the
summer session. He is coach at
Lufkin and Mrs. Stevens teaches In
the elementary grades.

Sol Blonstein made a trip to Okla-
homa City this week

Sunday and Monday with his
brother, Sol Blonstein.
Miss Hazel Rambo, who spent the
summer at the Unlveislty of Min
nesota. Is visiting her sister, Mrs
M. A. Whitehurst. Miss Rambo will
teach business administration In
Winfield, Kansas this year.

visited in the home of her son-ln-
law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs.
Willie Wilson, last week-end.
At a beautifully appointed infor-
mal breakfast Monday morning
given by Mrs. Shirley L. Draper,
announcement was made of the en-
gagement and approaching mar-
riage of her daughter, Jo Anne, to
Mr. Harold H. Williams.
Guests were greeted upon their
arrival by Mrs. Draper and the
honoree.
An all-white theme was carried
out in the lovely decorations about
the entertaining rooms, which fea-
tured white carnations, white glad-
ioli and white asters. The break-
fast table was laid with a cloth of
embroidered pineapple linen cen-
tered with a mirror which reflected
a wedding ring fashioned of carna-
tions, encircled with a plaited ruf-
fle of tulle over a white satin ruf-
fle. i
The announcement was revealed
on tiny parchment scrolls, hand-'
painted with miniature bridal bou-
quets, which weh attached to the
place cards. The message. “Jo Anne
and Harold, August as, 1946" was
Inscribed on the scrolls.
Mrs. Draper was assisted with the
serving by Mrs. Carl Unkey and
Mrs. J. H, Caperton.
The wedding is scheduled to take
place at the First Methodist Church
on the evening of August 38, at
7:00 o'clock.
ITie bride-elect is a graduate of
the Shamrock High School and at-
tended Texas states College for
Women at Denton last year and luu
been a student at Amarillo Collegi
during the summer session.

County, 'is a graduate of Shamrodi
High School, and attended Wesl
Texas State College at Canyon,
prior to his entering military
Mrs. Robert A. Kenney of Pam-
pa. Is visiting relatives here this
week.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Blackburn of
Perryton. visited with relatives
Shamrock over the week-end.
Mr, and Mrs. S. Q. Scott and
daughter, Barbara, are visiting this
week in Edinburg, with Mr. and
Mrs. Percy Bones. They were ac-
companied by Mrs. Bedford Har-
rison and will visit In San Aritonio
and return via Houston where they
will be Joined by Wendell Scott,
who is receiving his discharge from
military service. Bedford Harrison,
Jr., will Join the party at College

turned last week from a trip to
Salt Lake City. Utah, and points
