Marine Corporal Cecil Ray Lister
j has returned, to Camp LeJeune,
N. C„ after having been at sea for
i the past two months. Cpl. Lister
| has been aboard the New Kent and
j went to Puerto Rico, the West In-
! dies and South America with the
2nd Marine Division. Young Lis-
' ter has been in service almost four
| years and saw action on Okinawa
| during World War II.
WILLIAM B. BERTRAM
RETURNS TO STATES
William B. Bertram, Jr,, Pharma-
cist's Mate, second class, USN, son
of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Bert-
ram. Sr., of Shamrock, is serving
aboard the light cruiser USS Little
Rock which recently returned to
the United States upon the com-
pletion of a 4-mounth cruise in the
Mediterranean area.
In the course of tow of duty, the
ship visited the ports of Naples,
Taranto, Venice, and Trieste, Italy;
Bizerte, Tangier and Bone, North
Africa: Piraeus, Greece; Augusta,
Sicily; the Island of Malta and
Gibraltar.

Home Demonstration
Clubs Meet
The Wheeler County Home Dem-
onstration Club Council met at
Wheeler Saturday with nine clubs
over the county being represented.
Mrs. Emma Hastings, County
Home Demonstration Agent an-
nounced a training school on home
management which would be held
in Canadian April 19 and 20. The
District meeting will be held in
Perryton April 30, and the follow-
ing ladies were elected as delegates
to represent the clubs of Wheeler
County. Mmes. J. M. Finsterwald,
Clarence Zybach, and W. B. Bert-
ram.
Recommendations of the sponsors
of 4-H Clubs were read by Mrs. W.
L. Morrison, and accepted by the
council.

cluded: Mmes, Earl Miller, W. B.
Bertram, Emma Hastings, J. M.
Finsterwald, L. D. McCauley, J. M.
Hathaway, J. C. Nix, Albert New-
