nounce launching of ** 1 lie llci-lu-i-t llooxcr Memorial
Fund” campaign of die HoiV i.lulls of America,
Formation of nn unlikely
partnership in pursuit of an
uncommon goal was revealed
recently with the announce-
ment that Richard M. Nixon
and James A. Farley have
joined forces to honor tile lata
lierbert Hoover.
Reason for this unusual
Mending of a key Republican
leader ami a long-time Demo-
cratic party chairman is the
formation by the Boys' Clubs
nf America of the ‘'Herbert
Hoover Memorial Fund.” For
tile last 28 years, former Presi-
dent Hoover served as the very
active board chairman of the
Hoys’ Clubs organization.
In Mr. Hoover’s honor nnd
memory, Nixon and Farley
have launched a national "1,000
Hoys’ Clubs For One Million
Dosorving Hoys" campaign. Mr.
Hoover repeatedly emphasized
more Hoys’ Clubs are vitally,
necessary.
As newly elected Boys’ Clubs’
board chairman, Nixon lias
asked Farley, who served un-
der Mr. lloovt r on the Boys’
Clubs’ national board for 17
years, to “help make Mr. Hoov-
er's dream a reality.”
Farley, now 77 years young,
reports he is “pleased and
proud to serve in such u worthy
cause.” Announcing that there
will be a public appeal for
funds, he asks for donations to
The Herbert Hoover Memorial
Fund, Box 1,0U0 Times Square,
