Following the address, Master
8ergeant Doug Rives qf Shamrock
National Guard placed a memorial
wreath upon the grave of one of
the veterans, symbolizing a me-
morial to every veteran buried In
Shamrock Cemetery-
During this tribute, the group of
Post 68 Legionnaires assembled
held a hand salute ns Legionnaire
Clay said: "Lord God of Hosts, be
with us yet; Lest we forget, Lest
we forget.”
The National Guard firing squad
and color guard, under the com-
mand of Captain Paul Thomas
Maclna. inarched Into formation
and fired the salute as the as-
sembled veterans remained at at-
tention
Jim Coffman and Larry Flowers
sounded echo taps and Chaplain
Hoover gave the benediction and
dismissal.

Located in the renter of downtown Pallas, the model above shows
the three major buildings which will la: constructed in several
stages on the ten-acre Main Place site. Estimated to cost
$120,000,000, the first stage will he the 34-story, $41,000,000 office
building in the center of the picture. Later phases will include the
massive second office building on the left, which will straddle Main
Street, and on the right, a large department store with n 400-room
motel on top. The development is actually one big, ten-acre “super
block” tied togeth' r w ith outdoor plazas for pedestrian traffic 15
feet below ground level.

‘The Raiders’ Now
Showing At Texas
Few heroes of the early west
have received the many honors
and world-wide acclaim given
Wiliam F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody
who, portrayed by James McMul-
lan, Is one of the central characters
of Universal's “The Raiders,” an
outdoor adventure drama in color
now showing through Saturday
night at the Texas Theatre.
As a Scout, he served the U. S.
Army on the Western boraer dur-
ing the Civil War, and later, from
1868 to 1872, he scouted the coun-
try as Chief of Scouts for the fth
Kansas Calvalry At the time, the
Army was charged with protecting
life and property from the Indians
Mrs. D. L. Worley and daughter.
Mrs. Jess Deger, were in Plainview
Thursday of hist week to attend
the Plainview High School grad
nation exercises. David Worley,
grandson of Mrs. Worley, was
member of the graduating class.

Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Kennedy
of Pampa. visited Memorial Day in
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick
Beasley.
Actor Has Close Call
While Filming ‘Rhino’
Actor Harry Guardino showed
the stuff heroes are made of during
filming of a dangerous South
African location sequence of MGM's
new thriller, “Rhino!"
Director Ivan Tors was shooting
a remarkable sequence with rhtn-
gals (spitting cobras). One of the
rhingals hit Gunrdino's boot five
times, after which he stepiied on
it and held it captive until it
could be captured!
This fine picture Is scheduled
Sunday through Tuesday at the
Pioneer Drive In Theatre.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Worley and
daughter, Carla, of Perryton, visit-
ed last week-end with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Seibert Worley.
Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Wood left
Tuesday for Hobbs, N. M, where
they will visit with her sister, Mrs.
O. D. Stockton. The Woods will
proceed to Grand Canyon, Ariz.,
and other spots of interest while
on the vacation trip.
Mrs. W. Y. Cusick and daughter,
Pam, drove to Abilene last week-
end to bring Bob Cusick back to
Shamrock, where he will spend the
summer. Bob is a student at Mc-
Murry College.
Mrs. George Robinson made a
trip to Abilene last week to bring
her daughter, Gloria, back to
Shamrock for the summer. Gloria
is a student at McMurry College.
Mother Of City
Resident Dies
Mrs L C Bailey, 71. of Pampa.
| mother of K M (Eddiei Bailey of
Shamrock, died ubout 8 o'clock
this morning iThursdaji In Wor-
ley Hospital, Pampa
Mrs Bailey had been In falling
health for the past five yarn. Her
condition had worsened zlnee the
firzt of the year, and *hc had
been receiving hospital care for two
weeks,
[ Funeral arrangements are pend-
ing with Duenkel-Camiichael,
i Pampa.
| Mrs. Bailey wai born August 3.
| t882. In Decatur, Ala. and cume
to Texas to teach school when she
was In her early 20's. She was
married to L. C. Bailey near Sher-
man. They moved to Amarillo in
1U24. returned to Sherman for a
short time, and moved to Pampa
in 1926. Mr. Bailey, an employee
of the Santa Fee Railway for 33
years, passed away In February of
1961.
Mrs Bailey was a member of
the First Christian Church.
In addition to her husband, one
son, Russell, preceded her in death
when he was four years old.
Survivors include; eight sons
James A and L. C. of Pampn, Ro
lend of San BcirnardBio. Calif.
E. M. of Shamrock, Douglas and
Ray of Borger, Roy of Amarillo,
and Carl of Fort Worth: one
daughter, Mrs. Mary Haines of
Amarillo; 24 grandchildren and
12 great-grandchildren.
