showered down on his newly
sprigged and now thirsty coastal
bermuda patch, which stub-
bornly refuses to die in spite of
the adversities, but staunch as
our little springs have stood,
they, too, have begun to weak-

But may our dreamer continue
to dream sweet dreams of wa-

rows, and perhaps pne fine day
it will materialize.
Mr. and Mrs- T. L. Gaines
and children, Karen, Nicky
and Gwen, of Tahoka arrived
Tuesday evening for a visit with
Mrs. Gaines’ brother and his
family. Mr. and Mrs. G. H.
Dempsey and children. The
Gaines family returned home
Friday. Mrs. Dempsey and Mrs.
Gaines spent one day of the
Gaines' visit preparing and can-
ning six bushels of peaches,
and they tell me this runs into
work. Even all the able-bodied
children entered into the pro-
ject, and don’t think they were
interested in even peach ice
cream by the time the chore
was cmpleted.
Mrs. G. H. Dempsey’s broth-
er in law, First Lt. Dale G- T>
ler, has entered the U.S- Air
Force pilot training at Reese
Air Force Base. Lt. Tyler will
fly the newest Air Force jet
trainers and will receive special
academic and military training
during the year long course. He
will be awarded silver pilot
wings upon completion of the
jet air training command flying
program. The cadet, a graduate
of Charlotte Hall Military Acad-
emy, received a bachelor of
arts degree from Washington
College, Chester!own, Md., and
was commissioned upon comple-
tion of officer training school.
His wife. Olene (who is Mrs
Dempsey's sister) is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Olin Ne-
Smith of Stephenville. Lt. Tyler
is the son of Mrs. Mildred M.
