convention of the 8th congressional
district of Texas, was called to or-
der at the opera house in Dublin at
11 ». m., on Friday, June 12,1896.
Chairman Mallet presided and
Judge T. R. King, of Stephenville,

Committees on permanent organ-
isation and on resolutions were ap-
pointed by the chair and the follo w.

Resolved, that we favor the ad-
dition to our platform of the
theory known ae the initiative and
referendum, believing that it will
prove materially beneficial in more

tional convention, 6. H. Jenkins,
of Brown, J. H. Byrd, 'alternate;

tennial exposition. He was one of

is still serving in that capactity.
