Arthur (Emma) Harrison had
an experience Monday that most
of us don’t relish. “Pepper”,
the Harrison’s dog, was bark-
ing so the ladies decided to in-
vestigate and see what t h e
trouble was. Mrs. Harrison shot
at the "thing” at which the dog
was barking, and when the
smoke had cleared she had kill-
ed a 21 inch long, 13 inch high
bobcat. Congratulations, ladies.
Miss Judy Bays accompanied
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Keith and
family to the football game in
Abilene Saturday night. Miss
Jolene Brown met them in Abi-
lene and saw the game with
them.
Mrs. Wayne Keith and family
accompanied Ruby Lee to her
basketball game in Dublin on
Tuesday night.
Mr. and Mrs- Tim George and
Gloria of Fort Worth were Sun-
day dinner guests of her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Rupert
Blankenship, and Olan.
Sunday afternoon Rupert, Mrs-
Blankenship and Olan visited
another daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Donnell Davis and girls of Roch.
The Davis’ are remodeling their
home.
Miss Judy Zimmerman, home-
making teacher at Dublin, visit-
ed Monday afternoon with Miss
Judy Wilson.

home over the Thanksgiving

A good crowd enjoyed the
Thanksgiving program at the
Highland Baptist Church on
Thanksgiving day.

attended the football game in
Abilene Saturday night. T h o se

tha, Mr. and Mrs. Pruyn Thie-
baud and family. Mr. and Mrs.
Bart Mathis and Nancy, Mr.
and Mrs. T. L. House, Bill,
Bobby and Janie Ruth Keith.
Even though our Dublin Lions
lost their regional game I think
they are still due our congratu-
lations for a season well played.
Don’t forget that Saturday
night is the regular monthly
j meeting night of the Highland
Community Club. It will be our
Cluistmas program and supper,

Commendation Meda
FUSSA, Japan: Captain Lloyd
C. Corder, son of Mrs. Roland
Smith of 2200 Austin Avenue.
Brownwood, has been decorated
with the U.S. Air Force Com-
mendation Medal at Yokota AB.
Japan.
Captain Corder was awarded
the medal for meritorious serv-
ice as an instructor at the USAF
Academy in Colorado.
He is now a reconnaissance
pilot with a Pacific Air Forces
(PACAF) unit at Yokota AB,
Japan. His squadron supports
the PACAF mission of provid-
ing airpower for defense of the
U S. and its allies in the Pa-
cific area.
Captain Corder is a graduate
of Brownwood High School. He
was commissioned on comple-
tion of the Reserve Officer
Training Corps program at East
Texas State College in Com-
merce, where he received-* a
B S. degree.
His wife, Patsy, is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Col-
linsworth of Route 1, Dublin.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dicker-
son and children of Midland
and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Tay-
lor and children from Housto
and Charlie Grimmett of Fort
Worth spent the Thanksgiving

urday morning for Oklahoma in

relative had died.
